Planning a Bachelorette Party in Dewey Beach, DE
Where to Stay
Whether you are venturing from “up north” (Wilmington, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or New York) or crossing the Bay Bridge from Maryland, Virginia or DC, the excitement surrounding Dewey Beach creates the perfect environment for the bachelorette, her single friends and even her married friends. There is just about something for everyone!
First, you need to book rooms in advance. The more frequented hotel is Best Western; however, my favorite for cleanliness and value is The Bay Resort. Another option is a weekend or weekly rental at Opal Condos. The location for Opal Condos cannot be beat! You are smack dab in the center of town! You and your girls can stay together in a two bedroom/two bath condo (complete with kitchen) with access to the pool on site.
Now that you have a place to sleep, you need to find a place to hang out as girls, relax, and have fun!
Where to Go – Night Life
The Starboard is the hottest bar in Dewey and home to the infamous Suicide Sunday. Happy hour at Starboard starts in the morning hours and continues until the afternoon and well into the night. Starboard also has an excellent breakfast. You can enjoy a cold mimosa alongside Eggs Delmarva or The Fully Monty.
Bottle & Cork
The Bottle &Cork is a venue that hosts cover bands on Saturday afternoon and evening. Get in line by 4-4:30 on big weekends for Jam Session. “Jam” consists of 3 cover bands that play for about an hour each. The music is loud, the crowd is fun, and the drinks are cold! Apparel – flip flops, bathing suit, cover up. Bottle & Cork is a cash only bar. For a list of upcoming shows, visit Dewey Beach Life.
Where to Eat –
If you are looking for a more relaxed weekend with fine dining – Two Seas is a must but it is pricey! There is a roof top bar (very relaxed and low-key) that boasts views of the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay.
Another fantastic dining experience is Ponos which is Hawaiian-themed.
My favorite is McShea’s, an Irish Pub, located in the center of town next to Opal Condos and across the street from Subway. McShea’s has a fantastic menu at excellent prices. Their nachos are the best I have never had and their quesadillas are incredible!
Where to Play –
Of course, there is the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Rehoboth Bay to the west. The amount of available space for sun bathing is unlimited. It never gets packed like the Jersey Shore which is fantastic… also no beach tags!
Another day spot is Que Pasa which towards the southern part of Dewey right on the Bay. The atmosphere at Que Pasa is very relaxed and you can sip on margaritas with your feet in the sand! The tacos and quesadillas are a local favorite!
If you want to venture into Rehoboth Beach and play some mini golf, go on rides like you are kids again, or even just grab some ice cream and people watch, the Jolly Trolley is your mode of transportation!
