The PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard is almost done for round two. With the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard set for the weekend, the PGA Championship 2010 will narrow the leaderboard down even further this afternoon. With no fog this morning, everything has gone according to schedule thus far, as over 70 players are finishing the second round. But Matt Kuchar is still on top, just as he was for much of yesterday. However, the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard showed a few early ‘moving day’ charges thus far.
Matt Kuchar got on top well before the wind and the darkness set in yesterday. The former Amateur champion, and likely Ryder Cup qualifier, is leading at -8 going into today. Nick Watney is in sole possession of second at -7, and will be Kuchar’s playing partner when the third round starts.
But the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard had some important activity this morning. Jim Furyk made the biggest move up, as he is tied for third at -6, after four early birdies. Furyk is tied with J.B Holmes, while Rory McIlory, Vijay Singh, Zach Johnson and Bubba Watson are among those at -5.
As for Tiger Woods, he is still lurking on the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard. Woods restarted his second round with a bogey at the seventh hole, but he rebounded with birdies at 10, 14 and 17. He is tied for 25 at -3, five shots back of Kuchar.
Woods is a shot ahead of Phil Mickelson, who ended his second round at -2 yesterday. For Woods and Mickelson to make an impact on the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard, they must make bigger charges today. They have both had spurts of success, but pars and the occasional bogey have slowed them down.
Despite this early start, completing the PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard for the third round will be difficult today. With a late start for round three, and with more bad weather approaching, another suspension from darkness is likely. But while the leaders start at the first hole today, the bottom half of the field will start at the 10’th, to try and speed things up.
For now, the wind, fog, rain and darkness is still overshadowing the tournament, although this is around the time where the leaders take over. Kuchar is leading the way at a major for the first time, as he tries to take the next step, although Woods and Mickelson can make themselves real factors today. If not, the likes of Furyk, McIlory and Singh will look to steal the spotlight.
The PGA Championship 2010 leaderboard is still crowded, although at least it isn’t foggy this morning. Although the third round may start late, CBS will still take over live coverage at 2 pm est.
