Olay Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate is a Disappointment

by itchy fish

I could write a hundred articles on the many different jokes life plays on aging women. One of the worst; however, is the way our lips shrink away as we grow older.

That problem is further compounded with the development of tiny little vertical lines that encircle the lips. They are ugly, utterly depressing and one of Mother Nature’s cruelest pranks.

Personally, I never had full lips to begin with. With age they have become almost non-existent. Therefore, in order to make mine appear fuller, I must wear lipstick.

Unfortunately, lipstick bleeds into those fine lines and wrinkles; making them look even more pronounced. The end result is anything but attractive.

Because of this I am, like thousands of women all over the world, constantly in search of a solution to that problem. Many have been offered over the years but few have actually lived up to their hype. It pains me to say it but Olay Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate also falls into that category.

This lip balm comes in an opaque white stick form. It is easy to apply and feels like a soothing lip treatment. What it doesn’t seem to do; however, is live up to its claims.

According to Olay, its Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate is supposed to reduce the look of those fine vertical lines that form around the outside of the lips. It is also supposed to smooth out any wrinkles or blemishes on the lips themselves in order to prepare the road for lipstick color.

Olay claims the balm contains Vitamin E and micro-fillers, along with a hydrating peptide complex, that sinks into the skin, beneath the surface of the lips. The purpose is to hydrate them from the inside out.

The fragrance-free, hypoallergenic product comes in a .06 oz tube, which is barely large enough to last any time at all. That isn’t good considering its hefty price tag, which I’ll get to later.

I have tried using this product for a while now. I thought perhaps if I gave it enough time, it would make a visible difference for me. Sadly, it did nothing for the fine lines and wrinkles around my lips. It certainly did not stop my lipstick from bleeding.

To be fair; however, it did; smooth out my lips somewhat. That made it easier to apply lipstick as well as ensure a uniform color.

Olay Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate can be found wherever Olay products are found. This includes beauty boutiques, discount department stores, drug stores and some grocery marts.

On the positive side, the balm glides on smoothly without tugging at delicate lip tissue. Additionally, it does smooth out lip imperfections to provide kind of a primer effect for lipstick or lip-gloss.

It is small enough to store in almost any handbag, even a clutch. It will also fit in a medicine cabinet, makeup case, or cosmetic tote.

On the negative side, this product doesn’t really live up to its claims. That is unusual for Olay. They enjoy a well-deserved reputation.

So the question is this: Is Olay Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate worth its hefty $20 price tag. I can’t say that it is. I have gotten better results from other lip products like Signature Club A’s lip capsules.

Therefore, I can only give Olay Regenerist Lip Anti-Aging Concentrate 2.5 stars. It just doesn’t cut mustard with me.

5 stars – outstanding
4 stars – good
3 stars – average
2 stars – below average
1 star – poor
