Introduction
A bachelor’s degree reflects higher learning beyond high school. A bachelor’s degree requires the completion of a four or five year program of study. Based on a calendar year a bachelor’s degree requires a completion of at least 120 credits if the student is taking courses during a semester or 180 credits if the student is taking courses quarterly (tri-semester).
Students pursuing a bachelor’s of business degree or bachelor’s of science degree require them to take liberal art courses and elective credits. Both degrees require students to complete a math, composition, literature and language course. Both degrees also require a minor which is an area of concentration for student to take at least 15 credits in one subject area.
Bachelor of Business
Students who seek a bachelor’s of business degree take courses in accounting, statistics, economics, finance, management and marketing. Students also take courses in math or courses that have a math foundation, where as they learn how to earn money and handle money transactions. The courses help prepare students for the business world where they can seek employment in banking, finance, management, retail and sales.
Bachelor of Science
A bachelor’s of science degree require courses in history, humanities, sciences (biology), social sciences (psychology), art and music. Students take many courses in the sciences where they learn how to address society needs. Students who seek a bachelor’s of science degree work in the fields of human resource, education, and social work.
BB Example
A bachelor’s of business help train students to work in a business environment. Students usually work in a company. A bachelor’s of business train students to be entrepreneurs. Students will be able to start their own business by offering a service or creating a product.
BS Example
A bachelor’s of science will train students how to provide services to the public. Students who earn a bachelor’s of science degree help people by giving advice or providing a service. Students will learn how to create projects for the public services and write proposals.
Advantages of Earning a Degree
Having an advance degree in a bachelor’s of business or science is beneficial to students. An advance degree leads to many career opportunities and higher pay. A bachelor’s of business and a bachelor’s of science help prepare students in their communication skills so they will be able address people, collaborate on projects by being able to work with people, and be task oriented by being able to perform the goal of the job assignment.
