Okay, do we know who Cloward & Piven are? Briefly they are/were social scientists – uber lefty social scientists. Basically here is it in a nutshell – “The two argued that many Americans who were eligible for welfare were not receiving benefits, and that a welfare enrollment drive would create a political crisis that would force U.S. politicians, particularly the Democratic Party, to enact legislation “establishing a guaranteed national income.”(Wikipedia) Please read the very short Wiki entry. Click my first link. It’s only 5 paragraphs.
The point is to change the system in the nation by overwhelming it financially. Then the party in power at the time will be able to do about anything they wish. Cloward & Piven figured as long as Dems run the Congress and 1600 when the collapse comes, they can do what they want, Constitution and law be damned. As I said in a recent article, starving people are not too much for sticklers on the law when the choice is starvation, right? See how simple and purely diabolical this is?
Now let’s really tie all this together with the 2009 words of the Czech Premier who was then head of the EU. The Washington Post ran an article on 3-26-09 entitled E.U. President Blasts US Spending. I urge everyone to click the link and read it – it’s not too long at all, but for those that will not, I will reprise the important points.
The Czech Premier called Obama’s spending $787 Billion “a road to hell.” He argued the “$787 Billion economic stimulus package” was a “U.S. strategy for ending the recession [that] would flood global markets with too many dollars and lead to bigger problems.” The Washington Post article stated Czech Premier, Mirek Topolanek words “underscored a fundamental divide that persists between the United States and many European countries over the best way to respond to the global financial crisis.” The article further stated “Some countries, led by Germany, have strongly resisted, predicting that such a path could lead to unsustainable debts and runaway inflation.”
Then Luxembourg’s PM, “Jean-Claude Juncker, who heads a coordinating body of countries that use the euro currency, said European countries had already spent enough to jumpstart their economies.” Juncker’s words were a response to pressure form Obama for EU nations to “spend more” money to address the global economic crisis.
Now everyone needs to think for a minute here. If before the election we were told “Europe is right and the US is wrong” in the struggle between left/right spending and social programs, then how does this comport with pre-election rhetoric from Obama and progressives? Even the profligate spenders of European social democracies reject Obama’s efforts. When the folks who one advocates have it right, the EU, and that is indeed what progressives have screamed since the Bush II election, how does this evidence match up with the progressives efforts?
Keep a few additional facts in mind. The EU are the model Obama & progressives scream, ad nauseum, we must become. The EU were mostly liberal in their governmental leaderships and manners of economy and society. Yet since just before the collapse in 2008, the EU began rejecting the policies of progressive social democracy in many respects, especially in SPENDING!!!
All over the EU citizens began throwing out the socialists and Marxists and began electing much more conservative leaders. Why? If as Obama and progressives swore, the liberal EU way was the best way, then why are the very people that lived in the alleged Obama & progressive Utopia suddenly throwing out the Utopians? Because talk is cheap, THAT’S WHY!
The citizens’ of Europe have lived the progressive dream for at least two generations and they are soundly rejecting it at every opportunity. It’s because unlike American progressives, they have actually lived the results of such asinine efforts. They know they do not work as Marx, et al promised.
Iin my mind this is like the effort to keep kids outta jail with the “Scared Straight” program. Remember that? Send juvenile delinquents into the jail house and have the prisoners show them what their actions hold for their futures? Scare them straight, as it were? And the lefties loved, loved, loved this object lesson as a teaching tool. Yet now the IDENTICAL object lesson comes from Europe and progressives completely pretend this is invalid now. Huh? Can the reader see the sheer hypocrisy here? But forget the parliamentary lessons. The important part is to ask oneself “Why do EU nations disagree with Obama and American progressives who are merely trying to emulate the EU social democracies?” THAT is the question one must ask themselves.
Cloward & Piven is the Obama/progressive method. To overload the system with demand in order to devalue our money through inflation and double-dip recession. Don’t believe me? I opined a double-dipper was a coming after the first quarter, 2011 financial indicators are reported. Wait and see. Imagine being in charge when it goes bust. If so you are the one who gets to set policy. Doubt that, do ya?
How any adult can possibly be that naive is beyond my ability to grasp. Look at the actions and listen to the words of Obama & progressives. If one let’s go of any predetermined position and just looks at Cloward & Piven and the lessons of the EU and the EU’s throwing off the yoke of progressivism, what other conclusion can be reached with any degree of learned wisdom.
Perhaps the final nail in the coffin is to read Obama’s books. He is very clear in them that more drastic measures need to be undertaken to right what he perceives as a fundamental failing of the US – the ability of the people to decide their path. He believes people are too uninformed and not able to see the bigger picture. He thinks we are all Joe the Plumber and we need to be made to accept that it’s good to “spread the wealth around.” and while TECHNICALLY I agree more rich folks is good, the Cloward & Piven and Obama strategies are to drive the system to ruin to rebuild it in their own stilted image and version of fairness.
At this moment Fox reports the markets are plummeting because the Fed has doubts that the recession is ending and being addressed properly to end it. Gee, what to make of that? If ya are not an ideological progressive and ya voted for hopey change your ears should be burning red. Ya know, naivety and embarrassment?
Obama and crew are trying to break us to install their system of social justice. There is no justice in it at all – either their methods or their ends. Look at the evidence.
