Its a shame I’m a bit older, but have to admit being thrilled about the return of Ocean Pacific’s Juice cologne. As most know O.P. has been around for years manufacturing surfing accessories and apparel, and in the late 1990’s starting to produce colognes. One of these was Juice, which was quite popular, but dwindled in the mid 2000’s. Eventually it was discontinued, but now its making its return at major department stores and on line retailers. This is one seductive scent that should have never gone away, even though its limited to the 18-25 year old demographic. Its not because its a poor quality cologne, but rather due to its scent appealing to those of the younger, energetic crowd.
O.P. Juice is a lot like CK Crave or Davidoff’s Cool Water, but its a bit better in length of service. A spray or two of this cologne in the morning will last all day, and throughout the night, even if it involves working out and going to a nightclub. The notes are citrus, and very athletic based, which should appeal to the ladies in a major way. I used to wear this cologne, and it was always getting rave reviews from the “finer sex,” and I actually liked its Orange based scent. It just seems sporty, and while obviously not to be worn during formal occasions, its great for days out on the town or if young enough for it to be appropriate. The blue cologne is in a strange clear container, so it won’t be confused with the more aristocratic brands.
Yet the O.P. Juice has a market, and the bottle works flawlessly. Its odd cylinder shape with ridges allows you to apply the cologne with ease, as just a spray or two can be completed in a matter of mere seconds. If you are worried about its lack of a fancy image, the 2.5 ounce bottle will fit in your medicine cabinet. The silver top does give it at least an expensive appearance, and considering its price, that might be a positive attribute. On line retailers might offer you the best deals, because at department stores you’ll have to pay around $45 for a bottle. That places it in the medium cost range, but it is a bit much for those in the younger crowd. Perhaps this would be a fantastic birthday or Christmas gift from parents to their son, or if you consider how long the scent lasts, at least you won’t have to replace it anytime soon.
This is a really good product, and I’m glad that the folks at Ocean Pacific have brought it back to the market. Juice is one of the better athletic young man colognes, and I’m impressed by how it stands out compared to others in the same category. It will get you noticed, and if you want to try a sample before purchasing it, a lot of department stores have a napkin applicator version that you can use. Its not quite as strong as the bottled version, but it will give you an idea of its athletic and almost surfer inspired fragrance. This is a good buy, and for those in the younger crowd, its a fine cologne for nightclubs and other youth based activities.
