With the present school year winding down to an end I can’t help but feel a little sad and a little anxious with New Hope for the new school year to start in August. I’ve been filling in at a little preschool in Lodi for the last couple of months and my new position as a kindergarten teacher; again, will begin in the fall, in Galt.

I loved working in this cute Preschool, getting to know all the kids and staff was really an experience that helped me learn to grow in a broader sense. The class size was a larger group of kids than I’m used to, but I worked with an awesome teacher that I learned a lot from. My prayer is for her continuing recovery and well being. We had some challenges, but mostly a lot of creativity flowed through both of us.
When I started 2 months ago I had just come from a little preschool that was very conservative and small, with little or no budget. The preschool that I am now working for is very generous and fun to be around. If I had little ones again I would love to have them at this Church ran environment. I have watched and learned a great deal from the Staff and the Director is an awesome Teacher/ co-worker and friend.
From the beginning with the March Leprechaun look-out to the birthday celebrations, a fun Fundraiser, an inspiring Open House and a cool Cinco de Mayo festival. This little school knows how to make school interesting and fun for the kids. I felt like a kid and enjoyed these activities.

My new adventure in my teaching career begins again in the fall this year ,where I’ll be teaching Kindergarten again. This church ran preschool also has a successful preschool program and they now want to expand to include Kindergarten. I have worked for this preschool Director before and she offered me this position. I wholeheartedly accepted, although I’ve enjoyed working with preschool I think my passion is kindergarten.
I taught Kindergarten for 8 years at the small, conservative school, but now I will be in Galt, at New Hope hopefully with enough kids to keep things rolling along smoothly and for us to have some fun. With a new kindergarten program comes challenges and new experiences that I am looking forward to. I helped organize my last preschool position at the small, conservative school and we were thriving due to my interactions and experience with the school families, but the school lost ground due to some financial issues and cut backs due to the economy. I worked there for 11 years; I feel a big loss in my soul as that school has slowly died. (Sad times to be a Teacher), and I am thankful to be a Teacher.
New hope
My hopes are up and I am ready to start fresh. The school in Galt is part of the New Hope Church: New hope Preschool/Kindergarten on New hope Road. It is a short distance from the main part of town and has a big campus with a lot of play ground. The School has an awesome Director that provides continual support. The School is primarily ran by the Pastor and his wife, a young couple with a little one that attends the school and they all bring an excitement to the place that is contagious. I’m looking forward to working with them more.
