Once again, the Six Flags theme park is a sponsor event at Neopets. Last time around there were some interesting things to do at the park but this time there are more things to do, free food for your pets and a point system that offers you some nice prizes. This is running side by side with the Altador Cup so people are probably going to be pulling their hair out trying to level-up and grabbing flags. Never let it be said that Neopets drags their feet at getting new portals open for members to explore.
How do you earn the flags that can be redeemed for prizes? Go to the Six Flags portal and have some fun! There are three different games to play; each of them will earn your flags. They are “Where In The Park is Mr. Six?”, “Thrill Ride Drive” and “Flags Frenzy”. These should get you ten flags per day but some people have said they got ten flags each time they played (three submissions per day). The flags for the games I play were sometimes credited instantly; sometimes they didn’t show up until later in the day. I did have a few instances where I went to the Souvenir Shop and saw a massive number of flags that changed to about 70 – 80 after about ten seconds. Get used to those types of glitches.
There are videos to watch, Six Flag park websites to visit and even an email card you can send (this hasn’t worked for me yet). Whether the points get credited or not, you can be sure that Neopets is getting some nice coverage from this. It helps to increase page views and the sponsor dollars make the owners some nice coin. One of the biggest perks to visiting the site every day is the chance to feed your Neopet something for free. Right now you can feed them a candy apple, bucket of popcorn or apple slices; this is a once-a-day event but it doesn’t refresh when the new day starts so if you feed them at 4:04 pm then you have to wait 24 hours from that time to feed them again.
Without a doubt the Souvenir Shop is the place that everyone will be hitting on a regular basis. Right now there are four prizes stocked there. They are “Faerie PetPet Paint Brush”: 5,000 flags, “Giant Bubble Blower”: 500 flags, “Roller Coaster Design” (book / special) 75 flags and “Punchbag Bob Plushie”: 100 flags. I purchased one of the books and had no problem redeeming my flags. It does ask you to confirm that you want to buy it so you don’t have to worry about accidentally clicking on something. “Flags Frenzy” is rather easy but you have to wait for it to load so don’t keep clicking on it or you will get a message saying that you already played and you could be losing out on some flags or NP. When playing “Where In The Park is Mr. Six?”, find the flags first, those are the easiest to see without the magnifying glass; try to find at least one of the Sixes too. During the last ten seconds of the round you will see a small directional navigation guide inside the magnifying glass that will tell you were to look for your last item / items. If you already have four of the five things you should be able to get the last one with no problem. For the “Thrill Ride Drive” just collect the flags and Six Flags bonus flags to keep the game going. Avoid hitting things and when you complete all three rounds you can score up to 1,000 NP and the daily allotment of flags for playing the sponsor games.
Personally I think the goal of 5,000 flags for a “Faerie PetPet Paint Brush” is something that a lot of people are going to set their mark for but since the flag opportunities are limited you are going to have to do every single activity religiously to get to that amount. I am sure that hackers and scammers are already trying to figure out ways to get extra flags, it’s something that happens every time, with every event.
