This is the last episode before the big finale. Who will it be? Michael, Daris, Ashley, or Koli?
As you remember from the last episode, everyone spends a month at home. We see how they are all trying to balance their lives at home with their weight loss. It is a big adjustment for each of them. Again, the contestants weigh-in in a public setting to show how much weight they have lost. Allison pops in on a TV and announces that they will be running a marathon. Bob and Jillian make surprise visits while they are training for their marathon.
Lots of family members and former contestants return to cheer on the contestants. All four finish. Daris takes first place and beats Tara’s old record. Daris also wins $10,000 for a charity of his choice.
Michael is up first. At the last weigh in he was 322 pounds. He is now 299 and celebrates that for the first time in his adult life he is out of the 300’s. He has lost 23 pounds for a total of 7.14%.
Koli’s up next. At the last weigh in he was 231. He weighs in at 218 pounds for a loss of 13 pounds and 5.63%. He says Bob warned him about this. He was so focused, totally result-oriented and he worked hard for what he lost.
At the last weigh-in Ashley weighed 231 pounds. She needs to lose more than 16 pounds to make the top two and stay above the yellow line. She weighs 213 pounds for a loss of 18 pounds and 7.79%. This catapults her to the top spot. Daris gets emotional telling Ashley about her strength and the effect her example has had on him during their journey. Ashley says she never saw that within herself until now.
Daris is the last to weigh-in. Last time he weighed 195 pounds. He needs to lose more than 13 pounds to guarantee himself a spot above the yellow line. He weighs 197 pounds for a gain of 2 pounds. Daris says he concentrated more on training for the marathon then weight loss. Bob presses his logic and says that running helps to lose weight so it doesn’t make sense to him. Jillian doesn’t mince words and calls “Bull $#!+”. She is sympathetic, but tough when she says “you sabotaged yourself . . . learn from it!”
Ashley and Michael are in the finale.
Koli and Daris are below the yellow line and America will vote for the third person to make it. Koli pleads, “if I have ever said something that touched you or inspired you” he would like your vote. Daris admits that he would do well all day and then stay up late at night and overeat. He tearfully takes responsibility for his actions.
Tune in next week. Tuesday at 8pm on NBC for the live finale!
