The NBA playoff schedule 2010 took a few days off recently. But this weekend, the 2010 NBA playoff schedule will resume in new locations. However, the question is how long the conference finals will resume, before they give way to the NBA finals. There’s still a chance that both series’ could end in sweeps, or at least end fairly quickly. Given how this postseason has gone, it wouldn’t be that shocking for the finals to be formed early. Tonight, the Celtics can get a step closer towards ending the 2010 NBA playoff schedule for the Eastern Conference finals, unless the Magic finally arrive.
Although home court advantage has been pretty strong in this postseason, the Celtics have been the exception to the rule. They won two out of three games on the road in Cleveland, then swept the formerly undefeated Magic in Orlando. But they are also 5-1 at home, and if they improve to 6-1 tonight, then the Eastern Conference finals may be over in earnest.
This year’s NBA playoff schedule has shifted suddenly for the Magic. After going 8-0 to start the postseason, they have lost twice at home and are on the verge of collapse. Last year, the Magic suddenly shocked the Cavaliers after Cleveland rolled through the first two rounds. Now the shoe is on the other foot, and Orlando needs some road magic to change that.
No one thought the Celtics could sweep the Magic. But after Boston won twice on the road, it no longer sounds crazy. Yet Orlando did win a Game 7 in Boston last year, and this is the closest thing to a Game 7 for them. With a win tonight, a comeback will not look so daunting, and Boston will start to worry about another team blowing a big lead.
While the Magic try to avoid a boom, the 2010 NBA playoffs will have the Suns try to do the same tomorrow. The Celtics look to use their home crowd to go up 3-0, but the Suns need their home base just to stay alive. The Lakers are also looking to go up 3-0, and are also fairly favored to do it.
The Celtics and Lakers are now the safe bets to meet in the finals, given how they’ve dominated things in this round. If the Lakers’ offense can’t be stopped, and if the Celtics keep coming through in the clutch, this round could be just as lopsided as the last one. But by this weekend, there will be a better idea of whether the Magic and Suns can compete again, or if they were punched too hard early on.
The NBA playoff schedule 2010 goes back to Boston at 8:30 p.m. EST tonight on ESPN, as the Magic are faced with what could be a last stand.
