Natasha Alam’s August cover of Playboy magazine seems like just another chapter in the life of a beautiful woman in a Jackie Collins novel. If that sounds a bit melodramatic, it is not. Natasha Alam, according to her bio on IMDb.com, has not only modeled around the world for the likes of Christian Dior and Versace, Natasha Alam also happens to be a real life princess, having married Amir Ebrahim Pahlavi Alam, the grandson of the Shah of Iran. She has also become a notable actress, appearing on “The Bold and the Beautiful” and, most recently, landing a recurring part on HBO’s hit series “True Blood” as an exotic dancer. And, now, her pictures are in and on the cover of Playboy. No, stating that Natasha Alam’s life reads like a Jackie Collins novel is not an overstatement.
“I never imagined that I’d one day be a Playboy cover girl,” she recently told The Hollywood Gossip. “The magazine is so legendary, so when my publicist approached me about the opportunity I said, ‘HELL YES!!!'”
Natasha Alam is set to appear in at least four episodes of “True Blood” in Season 3. She says she has been a fan of “True Blood” since its pilot episode and had been trying to get a part on the show since it began.
“I’d been auditioning for True Blood since the pilot aired,” she told the celebrity gossip website,”but never landed any roles. I almost gave up on getting on this show. However, my audition for Yvetta was excellent and I felt really confident about the way I portrayed the character, but I still didn’t think that I would actually book it, so when I finally got the news I was ecstatic.”
She conveyed that feeling of ecstasy into an acted six-hour love-making stint with Eric (an advantage of being a vampire) on the Season 3 premiere of “True Blood.” When asked how long her personal best had been, Natasha Alam said she “never really counted it. When you’re at it, time stops…”
Alam’s Playboy pictures are just the latest in television tie-ins for the famous men’s magazine. Besides Natasha Alam’s cover, Christa Flanagan of “Mad Men” was pictured on the cover of Playboy‘s July issue. Even Marge Simpson of Fox’s “The Simpsons” appeared on last November’s cover in honor of “The Simpsons” record-breaking 21st season on the air.
Natasha Alam began her acting career on the CBS daytime drama, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” where she had a recurring role as a model. She has appeared in various roles on television, from “CSI” to “Entourage.” She says she is currently in negotiations to do a couple action movies.
If those negotiations do not pan out, it isn’t difficult to picture Natasha Alam dancing (among other things) on “True Blood” Season 4.
