NASCAR Sprint Cup Michigan Car Fax 400: Las Vegas Odds to Win & Picks to Win

by itchy fish

NASCAR Sprint Cup travels to the long two mile Michigan International Speedway for the second time this season but don’t expect the same results. The track in August is completely different from early June to Mid August. Drivers and crew chiefs that bring the same set up as the early race will be unloading in bad shape when the first practice begins.

Michigan in August is a slick track and totally different from the track the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams raced on earlier in the season. Drivers that are are not afraid to drive their cars loose and on the edge are the driver that can win the August NASCAR Cup race in Michigan. The following NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers have the best chance to win the Michigan Carfax 400.

Best Bet to WIn Michigan Carfax 400 is Greg Biffle at 15-1

Greg Biffle loves to drive his car on the edge. Just look at the right side of Biffle’s car after a race and the number is unreadable. Biffle is not afraid to drive inches from the wall with the back end hanging out. Drivers with no fear will win this race and Biffle proved two weeks ago he can still win. Couple this with the fact that we are in Detroit and this is a battle of car manufacturers, Ford will make sure all their cars have the Ford FR-9 engine under the hood. Take Biffle at 15-1 as the best bet to win the Michigan Carfax 400.

Tony Stewart is 2nd Best Bet to Win Michigan Carfax 400 at 15-1

Tony Stewart is a sprint car driver and loves throwing it sideways on the dirt. In fact Stewart has been racing a sprint car alot this year with his World of Outlaw teammates, Donny Shatz and Steve Kinser. The practice could come in handy here at Michigan, because he will be sideways a lot. Stewart does well in the summer months and he better hurry up and win before the weather cools down. Take Stewart at 15-1 as the 2nd choice to win the Michigan Carfax 400.

Carl Edwards is 3rd Choice to Win Michigan Carfax 400 at 15-1

Funny how it happens that all three picks are 15-1 but that is how the lug nut falls sometimes. Carl Edwards is another former sprint car driver from the dirt tracks of USAC. Edwards is desperate for a win and if he can get to the winner circle in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race before the Chase begins he will be ecstatic.

Edwards has a chance to do a back flip if he can qualify well and get out front in clean air. He has not been at the front much this year but he has a chance to make the lead early in Michigan. Take Carl Edwards at 15-1 as the 3rd choice to win the Michigan Carfax 400.

News and Notes on NASCAR Sprint Cup Betting for MIchigan Carfax 400

AJ Allmendinger’s odds have gone from 300-1 three weeks ago to 60-1. That is a huge drop and it looks like the Las Vegas Hilton Superbook is now a believer that Allmendinger may sneak a win in before the end of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. David Reutimann also drops down to 30-1 from his usual 60-1 this week. Toyota has failed to show they can run up front all alone on these big tracks and Reutimann may be overrated in this spot.
