MTV’sTeen Mom celebrated Valentine’s Day last night. The episode was full of fights and heartbreak. After all, an episode of Teen Mom cannot go on without these essential and dramatic elements.
Teen mom Maci struggled with the idea of her ex-fiancé Ryan having a girlfriend. Already experienced in lacking respect, Ryan failed to introduce his new squeeze to Maci, and that really struck a chord of annotance with the teen mom.
Maci also received a call from an old friend named, Kyle, a boy she had been dating pre-Ryan. But she spent Valentine’s Day alone with cute little Bentley asking him if he would “be her Valentine forever.” It was a heartwarming moment and showed what a great mom Maci is, even as a teenager.
Maci eventually got her reward when she spent a fun night out with her friends and Kyle. Kyle and Maci seemed to rekindle some old sparks. Let us pray that Kyle can handle Maci having a son and is a better guy than Ryan!
In this episode Farrah continues to struggle with the relationship between her and her family. Now that she has moved out on her own, she seems lonely with just her and baby Sophia.
Farrah made a smart move and took the time to talk to a therapist, revealing some horrible truths. She expressed that her mother would call her inappropriate names and punish her for being pregnant. She also expressed that the father of her baby had passed away never knowing he had a daughter. What Farrah revealed was truly tragic.
Instead of celebrating Valentine’s Day, Farrah took her daughter out for a birthday pedicure and dinner. During the dinner, her mother refused to acknowledge the tension between them or let Farrah enjoy Sophia’s birthday. That woman truly is cold and some of the voices she used to talk to Sophia sounded like they were straight from The Exorcist.
Once again, Amber and Gary fought and fought until we could not take it anymore. I am seriously ready to put the TV on mute whenever they appear on the screen. Gary expressed that he was not ready to be engaged again to Amber. This made Amber upset and go into a screaming fit (as usual).
As much indecision as Gary has put Amber through, she definitely has a temper problem that makes it hard for Gary not to lose his mind. How would you feel if you were yelled at every second of the day?! All I have to say is poor baby Leah. Good thing she has no idea what is going on yet because she is heading into a hurricane.
At the end of the episode Gary gives Amber a promise ring after threatening to leave for the billionth time. You can tell Amber is not completely happy with the promise, but it will satisfy her until her next mood swing emerges.
Catelynn and her fiancé Tyler had the best Valentine’s Day compared to all the other Teen Moms. They went ice skating and it was endearing to see them happier after the big fight they had over Catelynn’s dishonesty last episode.
Tyler still struggles with giving up baby Carly for adoption, though. Catelynn had time to grieve and he was strong for her, but now he is experiencing the same feelings.
Catelynn and Tyler’s adoption agent, Dawn, makes a visit and talks to Tyler. She gives him the number of another father who gave his child up for adoption. Tyler finally musters up the courage to call the other father and have a heart-to-heart. It is uplifting to see that this talk assuages Tyler’s depression, but it is sad to see that he does not feel like he can talk to Catelynn about the issue. I guess viewers will have to see what happens with their relationship in the episodes to come.
