Have you heard about the new show called The Talk? The Talk will be a new show this fall season featuring six women covering a wide array of topics. If this sounds like CBS’s answer to ABC’s The View, you’re right. The hosts will share a common ground in motherhood, but will focus on important aspects of pop culture.
The Talk Preview – the Hosts
Hosts of The Talk will be Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Sara Gilbert. Fans who remember Sara Gilbert on Rosanne, will be happy to see her again on a totally different level. In fact, she’s a major influence behind the show’s creation.
It’s a talk show with hosts sharing a strong bond in motherhood. Gilbert pitched the show to CBS and is an executive producer.
“We’re gonna talk about everything, ” Sara Gilbert told ET. “We’re going to talk about pop culture and we’re going to talk about politics, but of course it will be through that lens that we are all parents.”
“Hopefully I’ll bring some humor to the show. I think I’m a funny person and hopefully whatever comments I make I think are funny people will agree,” Julie Chen told ET.
Julie Chen looks like she has an inner comedic streak in her. Don’t worry, Julie. You’ll make viewers laugh.
Julie Chen Won’t Stray too Far From Early Show
Chen will give up her duties on the Early Show, but will be a contributor. The Talk is something the CBS news anchor looks finds refreshing in allowing herself to discuss her beliefs more freely.
“After so many years of being a news person I’m going to finally get the opportunity to say how I feel about issues,” Chen told ET. ” You know, it’s been hard. I’ve been bottled up for way too long.”
Considering the show deals with subject matters which affect pop culture, will The Talk have controversial media attention in much the same way The View has managed to capture? Get ready for some occasional sparks.
Parenting Experiences on The Talk
A fixture discussion on The Talk will be parenting experiences of the show’s hosts. Holly Robinson’s daughter already gave her list of things not to discuss on The Talk.
“My daughter was like okay, certain things are off limits.”
That may be a tall order, but mom will likely respect her daughter’s wishes.
More About The Talk
