Many people believe that fast food has helped contribute to the weight problems with which a lot of Americans struggle. I tend to agree. However, there are always some exceptions.
Today, a lot of companies are making an honest effort to still give consumers the convenience they like while also providing them with something nutritious and good tasting. One such company is called Michelina’s.
Michelina’s Lean Gourmet line consists of 34 delicious meals. Most of these dishes weigh in at between 250 to 350 calories.
One of my favorites is their Chicken Alfredo Florentine. It consists of white chicken, spinach and fettuccine pasta smothered in a scrumptious Alfredo sauce.
This meal is easy and quick to cook because it can be done either in the microwave or with the use of an oven. Both processes are simple and quick.
To oven bake; however, you will need to remove the food from its cardboard container and place it in an oven-safe dish. After preheating your oven to 350 Fahrenheit, place the meal inside on the grill that is farthest away from the heating element.
Bake the dish for 20 minutes. Then, remove and stir it. Allow the meal to cool for 2 minutes before serving.
To make the dish in the microwave, begin by peeling back one corner of its cardboard tray. This gives the steam that will build up during cooking a place to vent.
Place the entire container into the microwave and cook on high for 3 full minutes. Then open the lid completely and stir the contents of the dish together. Push the lid back down and continue microwaving for another 2 minutes.
Once the dinner is cooked, remove the top completely and let it cool for about 2 minutes. Serve the meal in its own cardboard container or put onto a plate and serve.
