Michael Lohan, the father of Lindsay Lohan, tells TMZ that in addition to his mission of trying to help a drug addicted Lindsay Lohan, he has a new mission to rescue his 16-year-old daughter Ali Lohan from living with Lindsay in her apartment. In a video interview that lasts over 20 minutes, Michael Lohan explains why he brought members of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department to Lindsay’s apartment to check on Ali’s welfare.
Michael Lohan wants to save Lindsay Lohan’s life and prevent Ali Lohan from going down the same path
Michael Lohan’s original mission has been to help Lindsay, but when a friend called Michael and told him that Lindsay’s car was speeding down the road at over 100 mph and that Ali was in it, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Michael Lohan decided to contact authorities to “preserve peace and make sure Ali is okay.” Said Michael Lohan, “The same thing happened to Lindsay when she was 16 years old. Dina allowed her to be out with no real guardian.”
Michael Lohan says he paid for Ali Lohan to be in a Catholic school, but that Dina Lohan, who has legal and physical custody of Ali, pulled her out. As Ali stays with Lindsay, instead of at home, Michael fears Ali is not attending school and will get into trouble due to Lindsay’s crazy lifestyle.
Many have criticized Michael Lohan for his problems with drugs and jail. An angry Lindsay tweeted about it for the public to see. However, in the video with TMZ, Michael Lohan is lucid, articulate and makes it clear that his past is his past. Many would say that he appears to be genuinely concerned for the welfare of Ali Lohan and Lindsay Lohan. (Michael says his sons are not in danger.)
If a parent knows that one of his children, who is a minor, is living with someone who has a problem, is it wrong for him to be concerned? As the TMZ interviewer said to Michael Lohan, with Michael Lohan wholeheartedly agreeing, “Everyone, including the sheriffs, know that Lindsay goes out every night, stays out late, goes to clubs and has a problem.”
The word is out on Lindsay Lohan. A celebrity can deny what her parent says, she can deny the tabloids, she can go on a Twitter rant, but eventually the public tunes out the denials. A drug addicted celebrity who is routinely photographed looking dazed and confused has a problem that needs to be addressed. Lindsay Lohan is abusing prescription drugs, says Michael Lohan, and he fears that she may die if she doesn’t accept help.
As Michael Lohan speaks to TMZ about Lindsay Lohan, Dina Lohan appears to be in denial
When Michael Lohan entered Lindsay Lohan’s apartment, he said Lindsay lay on a mattress covered with a sheet, with no furniture, asleep, with makeup smeared all over her face. A friend was with her that looked like a “walking zombie.” Says Michael about Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mother, “Dina needs to get on the same page with me and help our daughter.”
Dina told TMZ that Michael Lohan is dangerous and Lindsay tweeted that a restraining order is needed. It’s clear that Lindsay has a problem. It’s clear that Ali is a minor living with a person who has a problem. Should Dina Lohan work with Michael Lohan or try to prevent his help?
A 5150 may be the only answer
With or without Dina’s help, Michael Lohan seems determined to press on and may resort to a 5150 to save Lindsay Lohan if he obtains the legal right. A 5150 is part of California’s Welfare and Institutions Code and “allows a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person deemed to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or her self, and/or others.”
