Michael Jackson was murdered to gain control over his music catalog his sister LaToya Jackson has charged on a British television show. On the eve of the first anniversary of the King of Pop’s death, LaToya has stated publicly that her brother was killed, the victim of sinister parties who wanted control over an artistic legacy worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The artistic output of Michael Jackson, including his music, videos, licensing and ancillary rights, generated an estimated $1 billion in revenues in the year after his death, according to Billboard Magazine, the bible of the sound recording industry. The Billboard cover story detailed the remarkable revenue streams generated by Jacko’s works.
In a related development, Canadian entrepreneur Howard Mann –who had bought up the possessions of Michael’s parents Joe & Katharine Jackson during their 1999 bankruptcy proceedings — announced he had discovered nearly 300 music tracks cut by the Jackson 5 in 1976. Seeing as the King of Pop’s estate signed a contract worth between $200-250 million with Sony to release 10 albums from Michael Jackson’s unreleased material, this find could be worth tens of millions of dollars.
Mann has already been in business with Katharine Jackson, who now is divorced from Joe. The two have produced a coffee table book about the Jackson family that will be published soon.
However, Mann’s claims that he and Michael’s mom will exploit the new find, which includes Jacko solos, was disputed by her lawyers, who plan to sue him.
LaToya
The London newspaper The Daily Mirror quotes LaToya Jackson as saying during an interview with the English morning television program GMTV that her brother was killed as The King of Pop was “worth so much more dead than alive.”
LaToya had become estranged from Jacko after allegations that he sexually abused children arose led her to publicly criticize him. She now says that he was a good parent to his three children.
The pop superstar’s sister never told who specifically killed him, but knows why her brother was murdered.
“Michael was murdered for his catalog – that’s the bottom line,” she said. “He was murdered for his catalog and they knew that, and they knew Michael was much more, worth so much more dead than alive.”
“They” is never elucidated.
LaToya claims that she knew from the time she heard of Jacko’s death that it was a case of homicide.
“I never had a doubt. You must remember from the day that I found out that Michael was no longer with us, when my mother screamed ‘he’s dead’ on the phone, I just went into this, ‘Who did it?”‘
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 from the effects of using a surgical anesthetic as a sleep aid. Surgical grade anesthetic is dangerous and debilitating and is not meant for such use.
The physician who oversaw Michael Jackson’s care — and may have been responsible for his death — Dr. Conrad Murray, is to be tried for illegally supplying the King of Pop with prescription medications to treat his insomnia.
There have been no credible charges of foul play in Jacko’s death, other than allegations of Dr. Murray’s misconduct and criminal incompetence — and his death has not been treated as a homicide by the police.
