Many vacations are for the whole family; there are some trips, though, that should be for men only. Even if not exclusively for men only, these ten trips can very easily be made “for men only.” Be wary when planning these ten vacation ideas for everyone as you could end up in fertile grounds for men.
Male Vacation: Hiking: While damsels do get lost in the woods, not too many young ladies like to step out into the terra firma of the hiking trail. Even if the hiker in your life is a woman, men can typically do it for longer, with less to do, and without insect repellent.
Male Vacation: Camping: There is something about a man and his son, pitching their tent in the woods, sleeping out under the stars, and cooking vegetable soup over an open flame which just makes women and young adults want to run for the espresso bar. Men and camping will always be.
Male Vacation: Golfing: This sport; to hit these tiny balls hundreds of yards into these tiny holes seems the type of thing that only a man can truly appreciate.
Male Vacation: Cross Country Skiing: Cross country is a unisex sport but the upper arm strength required just about screams men.
Male Vacation: Fishing: Another wonderful use of your time is to sail out into the most virtually random spot in the middle of this big body of water, pull out a long skinny pole with a long skinny string on it. Take that string and tie a hook to it; then all the way at the end of this hook, pierce it with a worm, drop it into the water, and expect salmon. Yet, that’s what happens time and again! Isn’t it wonderful being a man?
Male Vacation: Hunting: Another needle in a haystack production. Go out into a large wooded area with a gun. See what you can kill.
Male Vacation: Country Club: While going to the country club can be a total family affair; men are really great at making the country club experience that much more…male.
Male Vacation: Big City; Big Buildings: Men are the makers of cities; titans of industry. So for the men in your life, you may wish to consider a trip to a big city like New York just so you can look at all the big buildings. Riding the elevator to the top of the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center fits nicely in this guise.
Male Vacation: Cruises/Tropical Getaway: While cruises to tropical getaways may be considered a couples only vacation idea, why wouldn’t it be a good idea for guys too? Some women get sea-sick and like to go to bed early but for guys, drinking mojitos in tropical destinations being served by beautiful women? Drink on brother!
Male Vacation: Building Things: Men are the only people I know who can take a perfectly relaxing thing like a vacation and turn it into work! Men get it in their heads that they want to build a cabin or train set or deck addition and they take their whole two weeks (as well as the ensuing weekends and evenings) obsessed with these projects. Get over it, building-men! You’re giving metros like me a bad rap!
