A lot of time teachers use to say you have to pay attention to detail. Taking care of the home and not the appliances is not taking care of the household. There are quite a few cleaning supplies out on the market that makes cleaning easier but are they all safe on all surfaces. Before using a cleaning agent, make sure that it will not scratch the surface and maybe void the warranty.
It may sound harmless but it is essential for you to replace the bag in your vacuum cleaner on a regular basis. When the vacuum cleaner bag is too full it will release dust particles into the air that may cause subtle damage to certain household appliances.
Some people overlook the sides and back of the stove. I usually clean the stove fan every other day so the grease and smoke from the food that has been cooked does not build up. Grease is one of the worst problems to have to a stove and build up of grease and smoke is definitely not healthy for any appliance. Make sure you clean on the sides and behind your stove at least once a week with a disinfected.
Underneath the refrigerator is another must see area that is often ignored. Dust can and will get into the coils of the refrigerator to slow the performance of the refrigerator. Cleaning underneath the refrigerator is easy. Get down on all fours and remove the plate at the bottom in the front exposing the coils underneath. With a dry cloth gently wipe underneath and on the both sides of the appliance. Remove any debris that is found underneath the refrigerator as food tends to somehow slide underneath the refrigerator during every day use.
The microwave needs to be wiped out with a disinfectant daily or as you use it. The microwave always has food splatter on the top and on the sides. Make sure you use a cleaning agent that kills germs so you can get the microwave as clean and sterile as possible. If you unthaw food in the microwave I would suggest you use bleach to clean it out.
Clean all your appliances on a daily basis. It is fun if you get your children to help as it will teach them responsibility and how to care for certain things. Never let a spill go unattended no matter how small the spill may be. Never leave food in the microwave or oven overnight.
Whether it is something as simple as changing your vacuum bag or giving each appliance a little attention on a daily basis. If you do some or all of the tricks I have shared with you, your appliances will last longer that you probably expect them too.
