Madden 11 review scores are steadily arriving with today’s release date. The Madden 11 review responses appear favorable, as Madden 11 reviews only add to the release date celebration. Of course, this game and the franchise in general is critic proof, as football fans and gamers are going to buy this in droves anyway. Every year, the latest installment is among the most hyped events in the video game world, and 2010 is no different. For this year, the Madden 11 review ratings indicate the release date hype was worth it, although there are a few reservations.
According to Meta Critic, the scores for the latest Madden are high on both Playstation and XBOX. Both versions have an average score of 85, with 10 reviews for the Playstation edition, and 18 for the XBOX 360.
Some of the Madden 11 review comments call it a step up for the famed franchise, as Kombo.com calls it ‘legendary’ and 1up.com’s critic say it made him drink the ‘Madden Kool Aid’ again. Yet there are still a few lukewarm comments spread around.
USA TODAY questions the game’s big new feature, “GameFlow” which can call the plays for the user. However, it can make questionable calls, just like real coaches, so some players may still want to be their own coordinator. Other Madden 11 review articles question whether the series makes things too ‘simple’ for the average fan.
Still, the scores are about on par with the others in the franchise. In fact, the Madden 11 review ratings on Meta Critic are exactly the same as those for Madden 10, as each game got an 85. Many movie franchises and TV shows would kill for reviews like that after this many years.
But all of the Madden 11 review comments mean little, at least when it comes to sales. Fans have been out in droves making orders, as this is an annual rite of passage before a new NFL year. The brand is too big to fail, yet it appears fans and critics won’t have many reasons to turn against it this year.
The Madden brand goes beyond the gamer and football worlds. In fact, it even has its own curse, for those who grace the cover. This time around, Drew Brees will seek to avoid the ‘Madden cover curse’ unlike so many others.
If Brees can do that, it will be the most positive Madden 11 review of all, as this version would defy the usual tradition. But for those looking to be the next Drew Brees on the video game circuit, they can finally get started today.
