Lifesteps, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, is much more than a day care and place that provides mental health services. it is also a great place to send your toddler to preschool. Lifesteps offers a variety of different programs for preschool and kindergarten children, and several different activities during the year to keep your children entertained. The facility, itself, is well designed and accommodates the needs of all children while offering state of the art equipment and teaching tools.
I, myself, have had the luxury of dealing with Lifesteps. What started off as being the initial place I took two of my children to for speech therapy, ended up becoming their happy little school home during their preschool days. The one thing that first turned me on to Lifesteps was the student to teacher ratio. There were about five children to every teacher. That sure beat out the twenty to one ratio that the school in our hometown was offering. Everything was up to date at Lifesteps Preschool, as well. Being that it is a non-profit business, grants provided the school with everything needed to make Lifesteps one step above the rest. I also liked that I didn’t have to take my children to a separate speech appointment. The therapists would pull the children from the classroom and perform the sessions during their school day. Now here comes the huge plus! My children attended preschool five days a week, for a few hours each day. Most preschools offer 3 days a week. This not only has sharpened my little ones learning skills and put them in a class above the rest, but it also gave mommy a much needed break.
In the learning department, which is probably the most important factor when choosing a preschool, Lifesteps proved to be above the rest. By the end of the school year, my children were actually writing words, counting to 100, and have jumped leaps and bounds. Not to mention, they behave much better due to Lifestep’s structured environment. In comparison to some of my other friend’s children in different preschools, my children were a bit more advanced.
Lastly, this preschool offers many activities during the school year. They have a large Christmas recital which the kids practice for, and a great end of the year performance. During this years performance, it was impressive to see the children sing “We Are The World”, while managing to sign language at the same time. Lifesteps also hosts a “parent’s night out” where they children go to school a few nights during the school year, in the evening hours. This is to give the parents a chance to have a Friday night to themselves. Even if it is only for a few hours, it is quite refhreshing to have that time away and know that your children are in trusted hands.
Depending on what kind of preschool you are searching for, Lifesteps has it all. Their curriculum is amazing, their teaching tools are unbeatable, and the student per teacher ratio ensures that your child will get the attention needed to help them successfully grow into a learning machine.
