Lost Season 6 Takes One Final Break Before Finale

by itchyfish

Lost Season 6 episodes are an annual Tuesday event this year. However, Lost Season 6 has nothing new for fans tonight. Once again, ABC has failed to air an entire season without repeats – even though that was why they moved the season premieres to January in the first place. Yet this break isn’t so bad, at least not compared to the one that’s coming. The show is taking off for a week now – but in a month, it will take off forever. As such, fans have a little more time to get ready before Lost Season 6 heads into the final hours in show history.

Warning: Spoilers follow.

With the series finale already set for May 23, although episode 13 aired last week, there was bound to be a gap somewhere. Originally, it looked like Lost Season 6 would go on uninterrupted until May 11, when episode 6:16 would have aired – leaving fans 12 days to wait for the series finale.

Instead, there is no new episode this week, as episode 14 is being saved for May 4. Afterward, episode 15 will come on May 11, with part one of the finale on May 18 – leaving fans just five days to wait for the Lost Season 6 finale.

The wait is already getting hard for Losties, especially now that the end has been filmed. The final day of shooting was last weekend, meaning that the cast and crew now know how it all ends. As such, they are bound to get even more questions from fanatics until May 23.

But Lost Season 6 spoilers may be easy to get, even if the cast still clams up. Last week, the call sheet for the last day of shooting leaked online, which gave away a few big scenes and who would take part in them. In spite of all the secrecy around the show, big spoilers are often easy to get – like when the flashforward in the Season 3 finale leaked early. In addition, a Lost cover story on Wired had some spoilers on a board behind Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.

The temptation to read spoilers has always been hard, but as Lost Season 6 nears the end, it is more difficult than ever. This was already going to be the hardest month imaginable for fanatics, and these leaked spoilers aren’t helping.

Meanwhile, ABC found another way to hype the Lost Season 6 finale. The pilot will be rerun on May 22, before the two hour clip show, two hour finale, and one hour Jimmy Kimmel special the next night. This puts more pressure on the final episodes to actually be good – but if early speculation is correct, they just might live up to the hype.

For tonight, Lost Season 6 reairs its most popular episode, “Ab Aeterno” at 9 p.m. EST, before revealing “The Candidate” next Tuesday.
