I was delighted to receive samples of both the L’Oreal Skin Genesis Multi-Layer Cell Strengthening Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate, and also their Skin Genesis Multi-Layer Strengthening Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 Lotion.
Both came in sachets, and the first one I am reviewing is the Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate. The size of the sachet is 0.06 fluid ounces (2 ml.) which doesn’t give me very much serum to give a truthful review of it.
So I washed my wash and then cut the top off of the sachet. I put my nose to the top and it has a very light floral fragrance.
When I squeezed the sachet, and out came a clear liquid. It was thicker than water, but not as thick as a gel. I immediately applied it to my eye area, and around my mouth. These are the areas of my skin that show lines, and wrinkles.
I would normally put a moisturizer on top of this, but I wanted to see how it felt. The skin around my eyes can be sensitive, and other beauty products that have made claims, have caused redness, and dryness.
Well L’Oreal say that the Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate builds and strengthens from within. It creates fullness, elasticity, and renews evenness in the skin. It also helps promote collagen from within the skin. The other claim is that it smooths the surface layer.
I sometimes wonder who writes this stuff, and whether anyone actually believes it.
Well, 30 minutes later my skin didn’t feel tight, tingling, or have any redness. So I put a little basic moisturizer on my face, and not the Skin Genesis one. I honestly think that you have to try a product on it’s own, and not a combination to see how it works.
I didn’t have a problem with it during the day, so the following morning I did exactly the same thing. Again I put it around the eye area, and my mouth, where the lines show up. I let the clear liquid dry, and then put a moisturizer over it. I had enough left in the sachet for a third morning.
I didn’t see any improvement but didn’t expect to. It states on their packaging that their proven improvement is based on 8 weeks of using these products. Skin looks younger, stronger, and brighter.
I used up the last of the serum on the third day, and again no bad reaction to it. The only minor problem I found, was that my mascara smudge under my eyes, were I had put the serum. Not a major problem, but I don’t feel that this should happen.
I checked to see the price On-line, and it is around $23.00. If I knew that this would work for me, then I would happily pay that amount for it. It wasn’t until I had bought other L’Oreal products, that I had a reaction to them, and still have two thirds of the products left.
If I can get a really good price on it, then I will give it a try.
