According to celebrity gossip site, TMZ.com, Michael Lohan, the father of infamous party-girl, Lindsay Lohan, is going to be a partner in a club that is planned to open in The Hamptons in New York and his 22-year-old son will help manage it as times allows. Nothing wrong with keeping it in the family.
The club will be opening in part of a restaurant and it will be called “Controversy.” That’s make sense, in light of the fact that this hard-partying family is always caught up in some type of scandal or drama.
According to TMZ.com, Mr. Lohan says that “Controversy” will check party-goers for drugs and will also have drivers to transport drunken people home.
Like father, like daughter. Michael Lohan, has been arrested for driving while bombed on booze a few times.
The restaurant that will house the club is call “Annona” (http://www.annona.com/). Annona is located in Westhampton, a swanky place, where the beautiful, rich and famous like to run amok. The restaurant is noted for its Italian menu.
It’s ironic that Mr. Lohan is opening up a club when his daughter, Lindsay, just appeared in court and was court-ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet.
It’s also ironic that this new club will offer a driving service for the inebriated, when Lindsay Lohan has been photographed falling down drunk several times recently or maybe she was just really, really tired and needed to lay on the ground and rest.
Mr. Lohan is what my father used to refer to as a “jack-of-all-trades, but master of none”. He’s done some interesting things in his life, but can’t seem to land on anything and find his niche. As a child, he aspired to be an actor and appeared briefly on the soap opera “As the World Turns.” He’s had quite a few careers, including stock trader, for which he was investigated for insider trading and did a little jail-time. Actually, he’s been investigated and jailed a few times. Mr. Lohan has also worked as a minister and counselor.
It is rumored that he and his daughter, Lindsay, are not on speaking terms.
One certainly can’t say that this family is boring and looking at Lindsay lately, it’s obvious that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree or maybe in Lindsay’s case, it falls “out” of the tree.
I’m not sure what kind of loony would partner in a planned business with a man with Mr. Lohan’s background and history of zaniness, but that is the power of celebrity. What better advertisement for a club that will serve alcohol than being connected with the controversial father of a controverisal world-class party-girl.
The Hamptons may never be the same again!
