Stop writing Lindsay Lohan’s obituary! The actress might just get cast in a Quentin Tarantino movie. But why would Quentin Tarantino cast the star that just got fired from the movie ‘The Other Side’, and can he and Robert Rodriguez, director of ‘Machete’, revive her career?
Why are news outlets already writing Lindsay Lohan’s obituary?
It’s going to be extremely tough for Lindsay Lohan to ever make a comeback, even with the help of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. PopEater.com reports that some news organizations aren’t as concerned with the end of her career as they are with the end of her life! According to the website, news organizations don’t want to be blindsided by her death like they were by the tragic and shocking ends of the lives of Brittany Murphy and Heath Ledger. Therefore, they are allegedly making sure to write her obituary beforehand, seemingly convinced her young life will come to an end sometime soon based on her wild lifestyle. But with some work on the horizon, maybe concentrating on her career will make her calm down a bit and quit endangering herself.
So can Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez save Lindsay Lohan’s career? And why are the directors bothering to try and work with the troubled actress?
Even though Lindsay Lohan was fired from ‘The Other Side’, she did manage to make it through the filming of one new movie, Robert Rodriguez’ ‘Machete’. ‘Machete’ will be an expansion of a fake movie trailer from Robert Rodriguez’ ‘Grindhouse’ movie, and will also star the likes of Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Rose McGowan, Michelle Rodriguez, Don Johnson, Robert DeNiro, and another celebrity making lots of headlines lately, Steve Segal. In the movie, Lindsay Lohan will be playing the gun-loving daughter of a businessman that hires the movie’s titular character for an assassination.
So at least Lindsay Lohan has managed to finish something, and it seems that her sinking down to B-movie status after the disastrous ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ may have been what sparked Robert Rodriguez’ interest in her (after all, he and Quentin Tarantino are obviously fans of bad B-movies, seeing as how they both try their best to imitate them). Plus the two directors seem to love focusing on troubled characters in their movies, and Lindsay Lohan has plenty of real-life experience to bring to the table. Lindsay Lohan is also a real headline grabber, which could mean free publicity for the movies, and if the directors could make her shine onscreen, they’d basically be cinema heroes for achieving the seemingly impossible.
So what character could she play in a Quentin Tarantino movie?
Quentin Tarantino is known for transforming the careers of actors and actresses that once seemed past their prime, like John Travolta in ‘Pulp Fiction’ and David Carradine in ‘Kill Bill’. So if anyone can turn Lindsay Lohan’s career around (at least temporarily), it’s Quentin Tarantino. Keep in mind that she hasn’t actually been cast by him yet, but Cinematical reports that, after a positive experience with her work in ‘Machete’, he wants to feature her in his next project, in a role described as “shocking” and “hardcore”. I personally would like to see Lindsay Lohan loosen up and make fun of herself a little bit (e.g., how John Travolta revived his ‘Stayin’ Alive’ days on the dance floor in ‘Pulp Fiction), but since she gets litigious/angry when babies do it, I don’t really see that happening. But with the way she looks lately, I could definitely see her playing a zombie/vampire/ghost.
So hopefully Lindsay Lohan will prove that we shouldn’t write an obituary for her career just yet in ‘Machete’, and maybe working with an acclaimed director like Quentin Tarantino will make her focus a little more on her career and less on partying. Let’s just hope so, because I’m banking on her stayin’ alive and refuse to start writing her obituary just yet.
