Let Us Pray

  • Tags: easter, God, jesus, prayer

My family at Easter time shared a special meal that lasted us all through our life!

The time was Easter mom; dad and I headed toward our church for the early morning sunrise service. I being so tired just wanted to sleep and do nothing else. I ask my father why are we here so early? He responded, “Let Us Pray”! I ask him again father why can we not eat? Father replied, “Let Us Pray.” I told my father that I did not understand why we traveled alone in the dark. My father simply said, “Let Us Pray.” After the sunrise service had ended and we sat down to a beautiful breakfast of pancakes and sausages my father began speaking very clearly and very slowly too all who sat at our table.

“Let Us Pray” he began while everyone was holding on to his every word. Our Father who art in heaven must have been the prayer that Jesus had on his tongue in the garden when he began his prayers. Hallowed be they name, he would say to his father giving him the respect that he was due from an obedient son. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in heaven as it is on earth. Jesus was letting us all know no matter whom we are or how smart we think we are that what God ordained to happen would happen if it were on earth or in heaven. Humankind needed to recognize that God was the Alpha and the Omega to our lives now as he was in the beginning. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trust passes, as we forgave those who trust past against us. We only need two things in our lives and that is the food we eat for daily nourishment and a kind forgiving heart. We need not worry about tomorrow or worry today as God be with us always.

My father stopped a moment to take a deep breath before he went on his morning lesson. Then he began with Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil. Then my father said upon this final passage that he would say Amen when I am done. He then proceeded by stating that we have all sinned and come short of the glory that God wanted humans to have. We all have problems that seemingly have no way out or ending. All of us find that within our hearts and our minds, we fail ourselves but worse we failed God. This is the nature of human kind. The nature of Jesus is that of a loving God who forgives and wants us all to be glorified in the eyes of his father. Jesus who loved humanity died so that God as a glorified being without blemish would accept us. Jesus used his blood to wash away any sins that we might have committed. Jesus knew that his dying on the cross would be too simple for human kind if there were nothing they had to do in return. Jesus also knew that this world would be standing for a very long time with many people of many races souls washed clean. who would need their Jesus died for us all on that day from his time until the end of time. Jesus died that we become saved from eternal punishments that human kind could not bare to endure. Just like a lamb taken to slaughter, Jesus willing gave up his earthly life in order to give us a heavenly existence.

Remember this always, my father said. This is the day that the Lord has made. Jesus gave his life freely to save the world of humans. Jesus only asks that we love him above all other things, obey his will and constantly, live a life of prayer. We need prayer in order that we remain safe. We need prayer in order to be able to provide the things we need. We need prayer to open the gates of heaven for eternal salvation. The Angels hear our every prayer Jesus. Therefore, “Let Us Pray.” and take them back to

The word of God has no meaning to the sinner because he is lost. Yet while the saved know what there is to gain by the word of God sometimes they forget to read the Bible news daily pray in believing his Holy Words sent to us for our redemption. Amen We all arose from our seats and quietly returned to our homes knowing that Jesus died just for us. and that we must always speak to him in prayer and thanksgiving, believing his word. The teachings of our own earthly father in prayer kept his word in our hearts. Today, with all the trouble in this world and in our own homes and hearts “Let Us Pray” one for each other and for our own.– Amen
