Lady Gaga is making a name for herself aside from music – stealing underwear from top lingerie fashion designers. According to Softpedia, lingerie designers, Rigby and Peller, sent Lady Gaga 7 sets of underwear for her to borrow for on-stage performances in her videos. Gaga’s penchant for fine undies has gone a bit too far in this case.
Lady Gaga wasn’t just borrowing underwear, she was wearing the prototype designs the elite fashion house of Rigby and Peller needed in producing more lingerie. Why would Gaga only return 3 of the 7 sets of underwear they sent her? Is it for more weirdness publicity or does she have a real addiction to intimate apparel?
Gaga is frequently seen in nothing more than black lace bras, see through undies, fish net stockings, wildly high stilettos, and rubber made dresses.
What is Rigby and Peller saying about this so-called underwear theft of Lady Gaga? According to Softpedia, the lingerie fashion designers had this to say in a report from the Huffington Post, “Rigby and Peller said it sent seven sets from its fall / winter 2010 collection to Gaga so that she could use them in an upcoming music video, but that Gaga only returned three sets in time for the brand’s show, which was held last Thursday. The others were reported AWOL by couriers.”
What makes the underwear so important to Rigby and Peller?
“They are all hand-made and unique designs that are simply priceless and are not available anywhere in the world so we are really disappointed not to get them back in time for our major showcase of the year,” a spokesman for Rigby and Peller said. “The last we heard the underwear was still AWOL and we are not sure when we will see them again. If we don’t get them back then it could hold up the whole production of our AW10 collection as they are the prototypes.”
Normally designers want their fashion creations on big name celebrities, but it’s unusual for the celebs to keep the prototypes – or master designs. In this case, Lady Gaga is putting an entire underwear collection at risk of not getting out for the next lingerie fashion collection.
Somehow, Lady Gaga stealing prototype underwear would only benefit the lingerie market for Rigby and Peller. Being elite underwear designers for the rich and famous has many consequences, evidently. Would they say no to Lady Gaga if they had to do it all over again? Hmm…somehow it may be worth losing 4 pairs of underwear.
