If you’re looking for Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas for 2010, why not don the Glee versions of some of her most iconic costumes to really make a statement? From Lea Michele’s zoo of an outfit to Lady Gaga’s wild Grammy dress, these Lady Gaga + Glee Halloween costume ideas will be hits with fans of both star and series (to flip through photo comparisons of Lady Gaga’s costumes and those from ‘Glee’ to help you out, check them out here on The Frisky):
Rachel’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Kermit Dress – For one of the funniest Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas for 2010 straight from ‘Glee’, all you’ll need is a cheap, short sleeveless dress, a bucketful of small stuffed animals, and a lot of safety pins. Simply start pinning the stuffed animals all over the dress until there are no bare spots left; put on a pair of high heels; and you’re ready to make a splash in one of my favorite Lady Gaga + Glee Halloween costume ideas. If you want to take the costume even further, safety-pin a few really small stuffed animals on a cloth headband.
Quinn’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Grammy Dress – This is one of the Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas for 2010 from ‘Glee’ that’s a little harder to duplicate, but you can get reasonably close if you want to take the time to try. You’ll need to look for a pink, strapless, long dress with a full skirt, pink arm-length gloves (go for white if you can’t find pink); a wavy blonde wig; some bright yellow spray paint; silver spray paint; plenty of long silver pipe cleaners or a roll of silver ribbon with wire in it (the bendable kind used to decorate Christmas trees); a stapler; a medium-sized Styrofoam ball; about ten thin wooden dowel rods; some glue; and a pair of silver high heels. To create Lady Gaga’s crazy dress, you can intertwine the ends of the silver pipe cleaners together and secure them with glue to create one really long pipe cleaner, or you can use a long piece of the silver ribbon. Either way, you’ll need to staple one end of your ribbon or pipe cleaners to the back of the neck of the dress, fashioning the ribbon or pipe cleaners in hoops of varying sizes around the dress and occasionally stapling the ribbon or pipe cleaners to the dress again to keep everything in place. Now that your dress is done, to create Lady Gaga’s bizarre, star-like accessory, put glue on the ends of the wooden dowels and stick them into the Styrofoam ball, scattering them around. Now spray paint the whole thing silver. For the Lady Gaga hair, simply spray paint just the bottom half of the blonde wig with the bright yellow spray paint. Make sure you use lots of black eye makeup and fake eyelashes, completing your look with bright pink lipstick. This is one of the Lady Gaga Halloween costumes ideas here that is hard to achieve even if you’re going for the ‘Glee’ version, so just enjoy tweaking it and making it your own.
Kurt’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Silver Dress – For this wild look, you’ll need a can of silver spray paint, two cone-shaped cups (like the kind used for a water cooler), a dress with elbow-length sleeves and a slightly flared knee-length skirt (a silver one would be great, if you can find one), silver tights, silver gloves, a pair of old mens’ knee-high socks (the older, bigger, and more stretched-out, the better), cotton stuffing, a white, Beethoven-style wig (or a light-blonde one that you’ve just styled crazily), and a pair of silver, white, or black high heels. If you can’t find a silver dress, you’ll have to spray paint the one that you’ve got silver (same goes for the rest of your costume pieces). Also spray paint the two cups and the socks silver. After the dress, cups, and socks have dried, glue the cups onto the shoulders of the dress for a pointed look. Cut the fingertips off of the silver gloves, and cut holes in the heels of both socks. Once you’ve got your tights and high heels on, slip the socks on over your heels, sticking the heels through the holes in the socks. To recreate the lobster-claw look of Lady Gaga’s crazy heels, stuff as much cotton stuffing as you can only on the top parts of your feet. Now just put on your wig and get wild with your makeup, and you’ve got one of the craziest Lady Gaga + Glee Halloween costume ideas.
Brittany’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Lobster Hat – For one of most attention-grabbing Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas, courtesy of Glee, it’s all about the headpiece. You could try and find a lightweight plastic lobster, spray paint it silver, and cover it with silver glitter, but it might be a bit easier to cut out a lobster shape (making sure that the claws can go around your eyes) from a piece of posterboard; spray paint that silver and glue silver glitter all over it; and glue it onto a headband to hold it in place right above your face. Completing this look is simple: just don a white top secured with a skinny black belt and a pair of black liquid leggings paired with your highest heels. You can also use black tape to make crosses over each breast, if you like, similar to what Lady Gaga does with her see-through version of the costume. It’s another of the Lady Gaga Halloween costumes from Glee here that’s hard to execute, but the end result will be worth it.
Tina’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Bubble Dress – This is one of Lady Gaga’s most iconic costumes, and one of the Halloween costume ideas here that’s a bit easier to execute. For it you will need a short, blonde wig, a short, flesh-colored tank dress, safety pins, clear balloons, white gloves, and white go-go boots or shoe covers. Simply blow up the balloons into “bubbles” of varying shapes and use safety pins to secure them onto the dress (being careful not to pop any, of course!). Also be sure not to place any balloons below your beltline so you can sit comfortably. Now put on your gloves, boots, and wig and smear white eyeshadow all around your eyes, adding black eyeliner, mascara, and red lipstick to complete this memorable look.
Mercedes’ Version of the Hairbow – For Mercedes’ silver dress, just duplicate the dress described above in Kurt’s costume, except glue silver balls on the sleeves in place of the cones. For her hair, you’ll need a long purple wig. You can trim off some of the length and use plenty of glue to fashion the hair into a bow shape to glue on top of the wig and create one of the most colorful Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas courtesy of Glee (if you can’t find a purple wig long enough to this, just use purple spray paint on a blonde wig).
Santana’s Version of Lady Gaga’s Black Rose Headdress – For this wild headpiece, I’d just get a ton of wide black ribbon start folding it and gluing it onto a black, securely-fitting hat, gluing the folds in a circular motion and going round and round, gradually moving the folds towards the center of the hat, piling it up as high as you can. Finish the look with a long-sleeved black lace top, short black miniskirt, black lace tights, and your best pair of Gaga-esque heels to recreate one of the most gothic of the Glee-inspired Lady Gaga Halloween costume ideas on this list.
So while the Glee-inspired Halloween costume ideas here might not be quite as amazing as Lady Gaga’s originals, and your attempt at recreating the Glee costumes may not be an exact replica of them, the end results of these Lady Gaga-inspired Halloween costume ideas will at least be artistic head-turners that showcase your love for the Lady.
