Kyron Horman Disappeared June 4, 2010

The idea was developed due to the disturbing disappearance on June 4 of Kyron Horman, age 7, from the Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, reports Oregon Live. This little boy went missing without a trace of evidence about what happened to him.

Investigators are still searching for Kyron. And people all over America and the world are praying for his safe return. The school year has ended in Portland and still no news about what happened to Kyron.

It is shameful that a boy in America somehow disappeared from his school building. What exactly happened? Will we ever know? Will Kyron ever be found?

School Security Cameras are Crucial

A school security system at each door to the school would have provided clear evidence of how Kyron left the school. It would have shown if he left alone, with a relative, or with a stranger.

The lack of a school camera security system leaves investigators and school officials in the dark about what happened to Kyron. It is totally unacceptable that in today’s high-tech world, that any school would be without cameras at the doors to document who enters and leaves the building.

Schools like to brag about how many computers they have for the students. Well security cameras are important too. And every school budget has some fluff in it that could be whittled down to find funds for security cameras.

Nothing is more important in a school budget than security cameras. Children should be secure at school. And if they do disappear it should be immediately easy to check the security camera tape to see exactly what happened so investigators know who they are looking for.

Lax Security at SkylineElementary School

Skyline Elementary School should get some security cameras before the new school year begins. And they should enforce mandatory sign in/ sign out for all visitors, even on busy days like the Science fair. Because security on the day Kyron disappeared was obviously far too lax. If the school was secure Kyron would not be missing. How is it possible with so many adults working in a school building that a student just disappeared without anyone seeing what happened?
