If you are looking for a place to take a group or even just for you to go on an outing, Jungle Adventures is a fun and exciting educational look at reptiles and other animals in Florida. Located on Highway 50 in Christmas, Florida you will find an alligator building snuggled in the trees. The alligator hides the adventure waiting for you on the other side.
As you walk into Jungle Adventures, also the only way out, you are greeted with a quaint souvenir shop and a few smaller animals. A baby alligator and a turtle swim and relax in the same tank. The alligator is too small to realize the turtle could be lunch. The store also has several birds in cages. As you walk to the back of the shop there is a café where you can sit and eat lunch or a door leading to what awaits.
Once you are outside, there are picnic tables to eat at and trails leading to animals and fun. Jungle Adventures has a platoon boat in the murky alligator infested water that adventure goers will love to ride on. The boat takes you for a ride amid the “hungry gators”.
Beside of the picnic area, you will find a bear cage. The bear serves the purpose of entertaining the kids while the adults eat. You may also find a rooster or peacocks walking around the picnic area. Some of the students in the class delighted in chasing the rooster until the teacher made them sit down.
Our group held a baby alligator, with its mouth taped shut, a tarantula, and a snake. Not everyone wanted to hold the animals. So, Safari Todd just gave the kids that wanted the experience the animals. He demonstrated how to hold the animals. He also gave a little information on each animal.
Around 12:30 there was an alligator feeding and demonstration. Safari Todd stood in the murky water with the alligators. The kids participated by helping Safari Todd know when the alligators were approaching from behind. They did their job well and Safari Todd survived the alligator feeding and demonstration.
You can walk around the park looking at the other animals. The walk is relaxing. There is a lot of shade so it is actually pleasant. After you look at the animals you can also have a tour of the Native American Indian territory. There are replicas of tools and toys to attract every age’s imagination. There is also a souvenir shop.
When you are finished with your tour and tired of walking, you can go back inside to the café. As you leave, do not forget to sign the guest book so you will be remembered like your trip. Your jungle adventure will be one that you remember for a long time to come.
