In a scene out of a horror movie, Joran van der Sloot killed Stephany Flores and as her lifeless body laid on the floor he ate a piece of sponge cake and drank a latte, according to the New York Post.
Van der Sloot had just come back from the store getting the refreshments when he found Stephany searching for information about him on his computer. She had found out that he was the van der Sloot that was the suspect in the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba. She started to leave and he grabbed her and in a rage, killed her.
As he contemplated what to do, van der Sloot ate and drank his snack. He thought about stuffing her body into a large bag and dumping her body in the ocean, but he thought the hotel would think he was leaving without paying his bill. So not being able to remove her body, van der Sloot decided to remove himself from the room. He packed his bags and paid a taxi driver to take him to the neighboring country of Chile, where he was caught in a road block set up to find him.
The picture of van der Sloot eating his cake and drinking coffee as this poor young girl lay dead on the floor gives me goose bumps. It seems surreal and borrowed from a horror film. What does this behavior tells us about van der Sloot? These are psychopathic behaviors being described here. To sit and have a snack after just brutally murdering this young girl shows a man who totally lacks empathy or guilt.
Van der Sloot’s trip to Peru was funded with money he had extorted from another one of his victims. He promised to tell the Holloway family where Natalee’s body was buried in turn for $250,000. Working with the FBI, Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mother, wired him $15,000 as a down payment and as a set up to get him on extortion charges. While the FBI was putting the case together, van der Sloot was able to get out of the country unnoticed and go to Peru.
He told the Holloway’s that he had pushed Natalee and she fell to the ground and hit her head. She died from this blow to the head. Van der Sloot went to get his father for guidance and he helped him bury the body. Was this where it all started? Did his father’s decision to bury the girl some how pave the way to make the next murder easier? The details of the murder of Flores came out of the confession van der Sloot has given to the Peruvian officials.
This picture being painted of van der Sloot is one of a monster and the behaviors of a very sick individual. He is taunting the family of one victim and charging money for the location of their daughter’s body. The next victim he sits and has a snack as she lay on the floor dead. Van der Sloot needs to be taken out of commission and put away where he can never harm another young girl again.
