When playing the Iron Man 2 game the first thing you are going to have to do is to forget that it is called Iron Man 2 because it has almost nothing to do with the Iron Man 2 movie. About the only thing that the Iron Man2 movie and game have in common is that they have the same name and most of the same characters. While many movie tie-in games fail by being a separate game, not being related to the movie helps make Iron Man 2 work.
The Iron Man 2 game is available for pretty much every possible console, Iron Man 2 can be played on the Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, PS3, DS, even the iPhone. Things like graphics and sound will greatly be affected by which system you use. The portable systems will be obviously lacking. The game looks pretty good but I think they could have actually done a little better on the graphics. By having so much on screen going on at once it lowers the quality of some of the graphics. For instance having Iron Man and Crimson Dynamo with lighting going everywhere and the sky with clouds, and fighting is a little to much to handle and diminishes everything that is onscreen. While graphics are always pretty typical now with little being better or worse it is sad to see a game actually be slightly worse in the graphics department, but this is only some of the time and still not terrible just not on par with other current gen consoles.
While the graphics are disappointing the music is better then expected. There is some good music with one title being made especially for the game. The music also does a good job of fitting in with Iron Man.
As for gameplay the game is pretty good. There are some issues I do not like. The beginning of the game has a lame storyline about the computer archive of Jarvis and info possibly getting stolen and having to stop it, and it seems way to much is put into what happens. I would think there would be fail safes and some kind of system to shut down the computer. They make it all seem to much for such a little thing. The game story seems a bit of and far fetched from their. While the story get a bit crazy it does make for a good game. With over the top battles, and some pretty good boss battles.
Besides the good fighting which reminds me of an old good sidescroller updated Iron Man 2 has some other good features. For instance you can upgrade Iron Man with more weapons and features similar to an RPG, you can use different Iron Man suits including using War Machine which all have their advantages and disadvantages with the biggest difference being between an Iron Man suit and War Machine.
All in all I think Iron Man 2 does have some faults like slightly bad graphics when a lot is going on, and a lame storyline it has many good points which far outweigh the bad points. Not only will Iron Man fans enjoy this game but I think this is a good game for anyone.
