I will begin transcribing what the Webster dictionary says insanity it is:” Such a mental condition, as, either from the existence of delusions, or from incapacity to distinguish between right and wrong, with regard to any matter under action, does away with individual responsibility.” I have seen many of these symptoms in many people considered normal, but, in these people it is like a spark that will soon vanish. They seem to be behind an impregnable wall that won’t let them cross the limit. Whether they protect themselves from extreme situations or they just can’t achieve this “out of the mind” condition. I know and everybody knows insanity is a harmful and sad pathology. I know everybody should avoid this state of being lost and sometimes inhabiting a virtual nowhere. The point is: Why are too many individuals who fall in the category of normal?, maybe no one deserve this label, maybe they are too mild and fearful of showing who they really are.
We know very well exceptional people (with this, I am not saying these are models to follow) had been in certain ways, catalogued of being insane or part insane, I will cite just a few: Bobby Fischer, Adolf Hitler, Friedrich Nietzsche, etc. These persons are very well known icons that in one way or another changed the world. Here their abnormality was a fuel for their success. Here the “insane” was respected and given honors. Now, I read in the dictionary what normal means: “According to an established norm, rule, or principle; conformed to a type, standard, or regular form; performing the proper functions; not abnormal; regular; natural; analogical.” My question is: Do you like to behave normal after you read this definition?. I can sense many people will tend to feel embarrassed identifying themselves with this condition of low level spirit. After all, nowadays the vogue between some sectors of people is breaking the rules and free themselves from anything that coerces them.
The system is made for normal people, after all it is made of norms and rules, and there is always a contradiction in the human conduct. They need rules to build societies, and then they want to abolish them (at least inside their inner psyche). Rules tend to wear and become irritating. Then, why are so many persons resigned to them? Obviously the world would not be the same without rules. It would not be progress, or countries, etc. I suppose the insane, cannot tolerate nor take certain loathsome patrons of normal conduct, hence, society overcomes them. We should do something to soften this conflict between special people and our rules.
