Smoking is a huge reason for the deaths in Americans and has been for a very long time.It kills more than 5 million people a year and will keep increasing.People are noticing the damage it has been causing and are attempting to quit. The benefits of quitting show right away even though you may not know it. Quitting smoking may not make you just as healthy as someone who has never smoked before but it brings you pretty close to that. Its hard to quit smoking because of the nicotine found in tobacco.
Nicotine is a substance found in plants which is not as harmful until it is mixed with water and alcohol and the other chemicals that get added to it. This stops your body’s ability to fight bad sickness including bad cancer cells. Nicotine becomes addictive because it stimulates your brain and it gives a calm and relaxed feeling some people even feel like they are more alert after smoking a cigarette.Once your brain gets used to the feeling it is hard to quit without withdrawal.
Now the symptoms you experience during the withdrawal would be the feeling of needing to smoke, constant thought and need of sweets like candy, cakes and cookies, headaches, loss of concentration and a lot of coughing. The feeling of withdrawal starts twenty four to forty eight hours after quitting. The nicotine stays in your system for about a week and most of the systems start disappearing after a month. Only the feeling of hunger can last a lot longer from four to six months. It may seem like a bit of suffering to quit but I assure you its worth every minute.
