I love movies, it’s an integral part of most American’s lives. And it shows every year with the amount of money we spend on this needed vacation from our real lives. But, there is one thing that I really don’t like and that is when the commercial for a movie is better than the actual movie. How many times have you come out of the theater wanting your money back? I usually want to get my money back when I rent something from Blockbuster that I didn’t like. I still haven’t gotten all of that money back.
Alice in Wonderland 2010
This movie was a real disappointment. I think Tim Burton went a little over board with the visual effects, making everyone have distorted faces and large heads, I think it takes my mind off of the plot of the movie; and also makes me wonder what the hell he was thinking? The movie was bad and I think I deserve, along with everyone that didn’t like it, out money back.
Maybe we should let someone else take the helm for this movie and turn it back into the wonderful adventure for Alice. And, all though I am an avid fan of Johnny Depp, he wasn’t the right choice for Tim Burton’s direction. But maybe, if it were to be remade again but with M. Night Shyamalan in the directors chair and Johnny Depp reprising his role as the Mad Hatter. I think that Shyamalan would be able to bring about Johnny’s versatility and depth to make the movie something that you would want to see again; and not talk crap about it on the way out of the theater.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005
I am sorry to say this, but this is another movie with Johnny Depp that was disappointing. I hated the 2005 adaptation and I didn’t like how depressing it was. What was Tim Burton thinking when he decided to add to the story and include the depressing adolescence of Johnny Depp’s character?
Try it again without the cast and crew from the 2005 release. Let’s see what Gene Wilder can do with this movie, after all, Willie Wonka in the 1971 release. I think that with this prospective he would better be able to capture the true meaning of this movie. Give the lead role to Justin Bieber and the role of Willie to Justin Timberlake. (I think he’s a good actor).
I Robot 2004
I didn’t like the short story very well; it wasn’t long enough to encompass a plot and it was kind of boring. The movie, however, wasn’t short and the plot was very good. Will Smith is a decent actor, but this was a real disappointment and the acting of Will Smith in this movie wasn’t all that great . I didn’t know who the director was until this movie came out, (Alex Proyas), and I threw my popcorn bucket at the screen when it ended.
Give this to Ridley Scott to direct. I think, with the adaptation of the 2004 release, Ridley Scott would have gotten this much better. We would have been able to see the depth of the character the screen writers were trying to create from this short story. I really enjoy most of the movies that Scott puts out and I think that most of the American population would agree that he rarely puts out something that is boring; and that is what the 2004 release of I Robot did, it put me to sleep.
