Weeding out your FarmVille neighbors on Facebook can seem like a grueling task. But, it is quite beneficial. You will remove a lot of extra requests and post from your Facebook wall that you don’t feel any need or use for. It will also help you to keep the FarmVille neighbors that are valuable organized so that you may be able to help them in a more productive manor. And removal of those overbearing neighbors will also open up opportunities to the remaining neighbors.
That being said I’m sure you still wonder if you are up to the task. You wonder what to look for when deciding who gets the boot. Well, weeding out your FarmVille neighbors can be easier than you may think. All you have to do is look for these characteristics in a neighbor:
How easy is it to receive anything from their wall posts? Can you click on Mystery Eggs, Collectables, Bonuses, Adopt an Animal, Get Extra Materials, etc. and actually receive something from them? Or do you click on it moments after it posts only to find that whatever it is you tried to get is already gone? Chances are they have way too many friends, and you are not benefiting from them in this area, unless you are getting help from them in some other way, then you might want to cut them lose.
Look for people that you send gifts to regularly, but do not receive anything in return. You are only allowed to send out gifts to 30 people once or twice a day. If you are sending something out to them, but getting nothing in return then you are wasting a resource that could be helping your other neighbors.
Lend a Hand
Do they help you with your barn risings or send materials when you are expanding a building? Be careful her, not everyone can be helpful in this area, sometimes the materials you need are not available as a gift to some of your friends, or they are not online to lend a hand when needed. So, be a bit picky about this one, but if you see anyone consistently ignoring your requests for help then go ahead and send them packing.
Fertilizing Your Crops
This one is tough, it seems only a few people do it, but if you find you are helping others in this area and they are not lending a hand then you might want to look and see if they help you in any other way. If not remove them, if however they are regularly fertilizing your crops keep them in your “maybe pile.” It may not seem like much, but each crop fertilized gains you more XP, and yields a better crop.
These are only the basic patterns to look for, even if one of your neighbors chooses not to fertilize crops, they may be great at sending gifts, or you may benefit from their wall posts. Go ahead and keep this person around. But, it also works the other way, fertilizing your crops may be all they do, and they may have so many friends that they never send gifts as well as you being unable to benefit from their wall posts. You have to ask yourself if it is worth it. It can lead to a disadvantage for your other neighbors as well; seeing as eggs, animals, and extra materials may be grabbed up before they have a chance.
Use your best judgment here to determine who to keep around and whom to remove from your Facebook friends. No matter who it is you choose, in the end weeding out your neighbors can lead to a more productive use of the FarmVille game for both you and your neighbors.
