Woohoo!! Great Job mashAllah!! I told you you could do it!!! Now let’s get on to basic arithmetic problems.

*Adding and Subtracting Numbers*:

Step 1. Type in the **first number** you want to add using the number keys and then press the **“+”** button.

Step 2. Type in the **second number** you want to add.

Step 3. If you only have two numbers to add then you can press the **“enter”** button to solve your problem. The answer should appear on the next line. However, if you have more than two numbers to add, then you should push the **“+”** button again, followed by **another number**. Keep doing this until you have entered all of the numbers you want to add, and then press the **“enter”** button to see the answer. You can also subtract numbers at the the same time. However the only difference is that you should push the **“-“** button instead.

Let’s do an example:

*Practice Problem # 1*: Add the following numbers: 3 +6 + 9 = ?

Make sure you have a clear screen first by pushing the **“clear”** button located near the top right-hand side of your calculator. You should see a clear screen with a blinking cursor.

Press the following keys: **[3] [+] [6] [+] [9] [enter]**

*Multiplying and Dividing Numbers:*

Step 1. Locate the multiplication button on your calculator. It should look like this **“x”** and is located on top of the subtraction button.

Step 2. Locate the division button. It should look like a **division** sign and is on top of the multiplication button. I can not type the division sign in this article so I will refer to division as **“/”**
