It’s quite distressing, I’m sure, for anyone to lose his hair, but when it comes to women, there are few things that seem more horrifying to us. There are some solutions when it comes to thinning hair, though. Nowadays, they have those clip-in hair extensions that are easy enough for anyone to use. And, of course, there’s the old backup plan: a wig. That’s going to cost you! Other options might include wearing a ball cap most days, only going out when the sun isn’t glaring off your scalp, or maybe even having your head tattooed. None of those options seem that pleasant, do they? It seems when it comes to the subject of women’s thinning hair there are few pleasant options that don’t involve a lot of money.
Many women have turned to new hair products which promise to make your hair much fuller upon using. Most of these products do what they say; the hair is fuller-looking – that’s exactly what we’re after. But, don’t you get tired of paying those exorbitant costs for these types of products? It’s not as if you have to purchase only one hair-thickening product. You have to get the shampoo, then the special conditioner – plus, for some people, hair sprays and gels as well. It can end up being quite a lot of money at the end of the month. Try to switch back to the cheaper products and your hair deflates with one shampoo.
There is a really cheap product that can be used along with any brands of shampoos and conditioners to thicken your hair with little effort at all. You can use the cheapest hair products you can find, and still have thick locks, simply by using baking soda! When you use the powder along with other products it works perfectly to give you a much fuller head of hair. Simply wet your hair well, dispense your usual amount of shampoo into your hand, then sprinkle some baking powder onto the shampoo. Lather and rinse. You can repeat, if that’s your usual routine, or you can go ahead and use your conditioner. There is no set amount of the baking soda to use. If your hair is short, of course, you won’t need as much as you would with much longer hair. A little baking soda goes a long way, though, so all you have to do is sprinkle in a teaspoon – more or less – depending upon the length of your hair.
Test to see if your hair is even fuller when you add baking soda to your conditioner as well. After using baking soda a few times, you can discover if you only need it in your conditioner, or if it’s much fuller by using it in the shampoo, second lathering, and the conditioner. If your hair is really thick after only adding the baking soda to the first shampoo, that’s fine, but some might feel that, after conditioning, the hair is less thick again. Some people might opt to add the baking soda to the first shampoo, a second shampoo, and the conditioner. Others might feel they get the same results by simply adding the baking soda to the conditioner only. You’ll likely have see even better results if you use the baking soda technique with an inexpensive version of a thickening shampoo.
For some people the thickening of the hair is only needed near the scalp. When thickening their hair they realize that the length is suddenly swollen and gigantic. If you don’t need to thicken your hair all over there are a couple of techniques you can use. One option is to shampoo and condition your hair, along with the baking soda, then dry it. After drying it you can then use a wet brush to brush out the length and tame it somewhat. With this technique you have to go through the steps of drying it twice, though. A second option is to dry the hair, spray hair spray on a brush, then brush the length to tame it.
When washing and conditioning your hair you can also apply the baking soda only to the scalp area. To do this, add the shampoo and wash your hair. Now sprinkle some of the baking soda in your hand and apply it only to the scalp area. Rinse and finish your normal hair-washing routine. This method can be used whether you add the baking soda to the shampoo, conditioner or both.
After shampooing and conditioning your hair you can dry and style it as you normally do. You’ll achieve an even thicker look if you turn your head upside-down as you blow dry. The hair will also look fuller if you spray hair spray onto the hair while your head is still upside-down. Allow the hair spray to dry completely before standing upright. You’ll be thrilled with your new appearance and you can finally throw away those wig catalogs and spend your money on something else!
