People sometimes do not want to be bothered for a variety of reasons, and instead of telling others the truth they evade their messages and phone calls while hoping they will quietly go away. Some go to the extreme of inventing non-existent plans and they begin making up stories. When they tell one lie they end up having to tell another, and before long they are leave behind a trail of clues. However, other possibilities exist, and it is not wise to jump to conclusions. You might just end up losing a friend or even a relationship. It is possible to tell if someone is avoiding you when taking facts into consideration. Instead of playing guessing games, find out once and for all if someone is truly avoiding you.
Avoiding Someone by Signing In and Out of Chat Programs
How many times have you made yourself available to chat and noticed someone in particular almost immediately signing out? They might even sign back in and out again multiple times. Do not automatically assume they are avoiding you. It is possible they were busy and had to sign off, or their connection could have been intermittent. However, if this childish game of cat and mouse happens time and time again, any normal person would begin to wonder if they are being avoided or sent a hint. The initial suspicion goes beyond paranoia when this happens repeatedly. Chances are the person is either avoiding chatting online, they are playing idiotic mind games, or they are avoiding you altogether.
Someone Might Be Avoiding Your Calls
Calling someone multiple times over a number of days and not receiving a response is a good indication that someone is avoiding you – unless of course they had an emergency or went out of town. Do not jump to conclusions when someone does not return phone calls right away. Give it time and do not expect an immediate response People are not always available to talk for a number of reasons, and multiple calls are not necessary. They might not be avoiding you. Calling repeatedly in an effort to get a response is irritating and can actually drive the person away. No one likes a pest.
If possible, to talk to someone else to find out if the person is out of town or if something is wrong. If a number of days go by without a response and nothing is wrong, take the hint and move on. They probably are avoiding you if they do not take a moment to answer the phone or return the last call.
Avoiding Someone by Taking a New Route
If someone is usually seen each day, each week, or on a regular basis and they suddenly disappear, they might be avoiding you. It is also possible their circumstances have changed. If the person in question is a neighbor, a classmate, or a coworker, this should be fairly easy to figure out. Otherwise, do not make assumptions and automatically think they are avoiding you. Take the time to look into the situation. They might be taking a new route for reasons other than avoidance. Assume someone is avoiding you too often and chances are they eventually will.
Avoiding Someone Through Unanswered Texts
Unanswered texts are a lot like unanswered phone calls. Before long it becomes apparent that someone is avoiding you if the messages are never answered. However, keep in mind it is possible that the person might be working. They might have even had an emergency to attend to. A real relationship or friendship has no room for paranoia or mistrust. Look for hints and signs of avoidance, but do not jump to immediate conclusions. They might not want to be friends and not know how to get out of it. On the other hand, they might really be busy. In any case it can some time to put the pieces of the puzzle together and find out whether or not someone is really avoiding you.
