Children seem to be plagued with problems, especially when it is time for them to head back to school. Unfortunately it seems that society has made it acceptable for kids to whine and complain whenever they are annoyed by another child. Whenever kids don’t get their way the resort to temper tantrums in order to get what they want. Many of them also seem to have hard time just dealing with the realities of life. The reason being simply because their children have been overly protected from the harsh reality of life. Parents seem to constantly want to jump in and solve the problems for their children, but very rarely is this beneficial course to take.
The end result is usually children who grow up to be adults who just can not deal with different personalities that do not fit with theirs. It may seem harsh at times to tell children to just deal with things but it is a very important part of their development. In addition to telling children that they need to learn to deal with others as they get older, parents also need to give their children practical solutions. Why not guide them through some of their problems so that they can see how to cope? For example if they are having difficulty getting along with others you can talk to them and try to get to the root of the problem. Could it be a personality clash? Or perhaps they feel that there personal space has been invaded. Helping your child learn to talk their way through problems will really help them learn to cope better with their problems. So it would not be as if you were just leaving your child helpless instead you will be supplying them with the tools they need to learn to deal with the personalities of others as well as life itself.
Eventually your child will be old enough to enter the work force and they will have to learn to get deal with a variety of personalities. It can make their work life miserable if they do not have the proper skills to settle disputes and learn to work as a team with others, even if you don’t care for their personality. The best time to get your child started on learning to deal with different personalities is during their elementary school years. This is usually the time when they first start having problems. As mentioned above most kids tend to throw tantrums when they don’t get their way. Unfortunately there are some adults who show the same behavior when things don’t exactly go as they want. The problem could very well be that they never learned to manage with personalities that clash with theirs.
