Are you wondering if your Chanel handbag is a fake? As one of the most famous fashion houses in the world, Chanel is known for its distinctive quality and luxurious design. Over the years, its popularity among celebrities and countless others caused it to become one of the most commonly counterfeited designer labels you see available on the street. Fakes are available all over the internet including sites like eBay.
Unfortunately, if you are looking for an incredible deal on a designer handbag, the bargains are often few and far between. Products are sold at the boutiques for Chanel, and also at a select number of high end retail stores throughout the world for hundreds and even thousands of dollars.
If you happen to find yourself wanting to figure out if a bag is fake, you need to know what distinguishing characteristics to look for, in a genuine designer handbag. The quilting on a Chanel bag will always match up with great precision on both sides. Any hardware on your bag should always be aligned perfectly, and CHANEL will appear neatly on the hardware. A genuine Chanel bag will not have shabby stitching or craftsmanship. The dust bag included with a Chanel handbag is normally solid black, with the logo in white.
A purchase from a legitimate retailer comes with an authenticity card that is black, with gold letters and trim. The photo above depicts what will come with a real Chanel bag. The authenticity card is on the right. The serial number is on the reverse side of the authenticity card. I did not show the serial numbers on my card, because I do not want a couterfeiter having the ability to use them. A very tiny sticker/label inside of a Chanel handbag will have numbers that correspond exactly to the serial numbers, on the actual authenticity card.
Some companies online are selling handbags that look almost exactly like the real ones made by Chanel. In some cases, the counterfeit bags are such good replicas that they have an actual authenticity card, and the sticker inside of the bag. Many women believe they are buying real Chanel bags, but they are actually buying fake merchandise. For an example, if an online retailer is selling a bag that retails for $2000 for $1000 it definitely seems like a real bargain. In the end, if the bag is only a good fake, you will have wasted a ton of money on counterfeit merchandise.
If you really desire authentic merchandise, beware of buying a designer handbag outside of a boutique or high end department store. Sometimes it is a better idea to just save your money, so you can eventually go to one of the authorized retailers to make your purchase and get the real thing.
