Selling merchandise on AMAZON.COM is simple and far less time consuming than other auction websites that you have to create your own listings completely by scratch. Your bank account, debit or credit card and a verifiable phone number and address and you’re on your way to opening your store on AMAZON.COM.
Selling online doesn’t always have to be a harrowing waste of time. Websites like EBAY, OVERSTOCK and HALF.COM can require a lot of information and take a lot of time. Opening an AMAZON.COM store is easy, the rules of sale are more forgiving and you have more control over how it’s advertised and sold!
To get started, go to AMAZON.COM and go to the bottom of the main page. In the center there is a link “SELL ON AMAZON” and click it. There are 2 different ways to sell. You can sell at a flat rate of $39.99 for an unlimited amount of listings. You can also sell for .99 per sale plus the referral fee. The referral fee is a percentage of the sales amount that they keep after your item sells and ships. Depending on what you want to do, read each option and weigh the differences before choosing!
You will be asked to enter your checking account info, debit or credit card info and verifiable address and phone info. Once that is all accepted you are up and running and ready to get started!
Unlike EBAY or OVERSTOCK.COM, AMAZON.COM requires a valid UPC code for any item that your sell. AMAZON.COM is typically not the venue to sell used items or vintage “garage sale” stuff like you can on EBAY. You will have to get the UPC off the item or locate the UPC at www.upcdatabase.com.
If what you’re selling is on AMAZON, it’s extremely simple to list your item. AMAZON usually has pre-loaded photos of the item already! If you do upload a photo, it must be on a WHITE background in order to fit the regulation guidelines.
After you have entered a few things and set your shipping settings, AMAZON does the rest! This can be a fun easy way to sell whatever you fancy online with no up-front cost!
