Do-it-yourself projects are always a good way to go when trying to save money on a wedding. One of the easiest DIY wedding projects is a wedding card box. If you’re having a black themed wedding then your typical wedding card boxes might not work for your wedding. Below are a few styles of wedding card boxes you can make for your black themed wedding.
Black Card Box Idea 1
If you’re having a vintage inspired black wedding then this wedding card box might be the one for you. Look for a black vintage birdcage that opens up on top. To dress up the birdcage to fit your black wedding, look for black flowers such as black calla lilies. You can use real ones if it’s in your budget or false ones to save a few extra bucks. Next you’ll want really pretty black lace. Simply take the lace and wrap it and the flowers in whatever fashion you want on the cage. This card “box” will also be nice if you don’t want to have a traditional card box. You can use only lace if you’re not into having flowers on the cage. Of course you can feel free to decorate the cage with any other props that inspires you. Don’t forget to leave the cage open so your wedding guests can drop their cards into it.
Black Card Box Idea 2
Look for any doily pattern of your choice and spray paint it black. Go to your local craft store and look for plain cardboard boxes shaped in a heart. With your glue gun you’ll want to cover the heart box with the black doilies. If you don’t like doilies then consider using black lace. Typically, these heart shaped boxes with come with a lid. You can either leave the lid off or you can cut a slit on the lid large enough for your guests to stick their cards inside. Of course, you can use any shape box you want but I figured a heart would be fitting for a wedding. Also, if you spray paint the box white first the black doilies or lace will look stunning against it opposed to the brown cardboard.
Black Card Box Idea 3
I absolutely loved retro themed weddings. If you’re having a black retro themed wedding them consider this wedding card box. Look for an old record. Carefully cut a hole out of it. Next you’ll look for a tall and round cardboard box that fits underneath the record. Glue the record to the top of the box. However, be sure to spray paint the box black first. You can write on the record with a gold metallic pen if you’d like. You can write your initials, wedding date, etc. You could also have your guest initial your box with the gold metallic pen and you can keep it for keepsake if you’d wish.
