How to Make Gross Halloween Costumes

by itchyfish

Are you looking for the perfect costume that will be unique and gross this Halloween? Are you looking to stir up a few chuckles this Halloween by having one of the most unique and inexpensive costumes? If so, there are several ideas for that perfect gross costume that will cost you pennies to make. Learn how to design you own costumes in minutes.

Human Tampon

Lets admit it, tampons and the thought of what one looks like after being used, is pretty grotesque. The vision of actually being a used tampon for Halloween, however, is quite hilarious. With a little time and patience, it is quite simple to create a human tampon costume.

You will first need to gather up the material for the base of your costume. Preferably, you may want to get white tights and a white turtleneck to wear. After you get those basic items prepared, you are ready to go to town on creating your human tampon costume. For your costume overlay, you want to get a bunch of cotton. Stuffing for pillows may work the best and will be less time consuming to assemble than if you were to buy bags of cotton balls. Using a hot glue gun, glue the stuffing all over your white tights and turtleneck. After you have your cotton attached securely, the real fun begins. You can paint red and brown streaks over parts of your costume to give it that “used” effect. You can also buy a headband and attach a heavy, long, white rope to it which will serve as the string on a tampon. Be sure you paint part of the string red. You now have created your human tampon costume within hours and within your budget, as well.

Human Herpes

Herpes, whether it is genital warts, cold sores, or other types on the body, usually seems to gross most people out. Becoming human herpes for Halloween is a bit gross, but definitely unique and funny to those with an odd sense of human.

Since people usually associate puss with herpes, it is important that you are prepared to feel a little messy while wearing this costume. You can wear either red or green cotton clothing as your base. Next, you want to buy those tiny styrofoam bowls and paint them red, to resemble that pimple sore like effect of herpes. With the bowls facing down on your costume, glue the rims with hot glue onto your costume. You can paint them red or green, or both colors. Lastly, you want to find some silly slime, which can be found in most toy stores. Smear that all over your costume when you are ready to leave for your destination or party. You can also cut some holes in the bowls and create an oozing effect coming out of the bowls, from the slime. For added props, you can tape condoms to your costume if you are shooting for the genital wart effect.

In conclusion, tampons and herpes are just two simple ideas that make for great gross costumes. Think of what grosses you out the most, and turn that idea into a costume that will bring a laughter effect amongst your audience. In most cases, any idea you have for a Halloween costume can be made from materials you have in hand or materials you can purchase at a cheap rate. Let those creative juices flow and be the hit of party by grossing out your surroundings.
