How to look like you don’t wear makeup. It’s actually pretty easy, and it’s very in style right now. There are some people that actually think I have a very clear complexion, but underneath it all, I have big pores, scars and sunspots (even a little acne at times).
I have lately been told that my complexion looks better than ever. I owe it all to Nature’s Sunshine Skin Care products and Bare Escentuals Makeup.
I’m sure you already have your favorite skin care regimen, however the makeup you use really makes the difference.
Bare Escentuals is mineral makeup. By the way that is the correct spelling for the product. It is my all time favorite. I had great coverage and it really doesn’t look like makeup once you apply it. You can also use it to cover sunspots and scars.
If you don’t want to use Bare Escentuals, there are tons of different mineral makeups out there. Mary Kay mineral makeup is pretty decent as well, but it had a tendency to make my skin look oily throughout the day. It’s okay if you apply it a few times throughout the day and it does come in a bigger container, so you wont feel like you are wasting it.
The trick is to not use too much makeup. Even if you use liquid foundation, you should pay a little more to get the better brands. Cheap makeups look clumpy and a bit like pancake makeup.
Be careful when putting your final powder on. Too much will be extremely noticeable. Just pat it on lightly with your brush.
The best thing you can do is use outside lighting. I have a mirror that is next to my window so that when the sun shines in the morning it shines directly on my face. This really helps to make sure you are not using too much makeup. Even if you can get a portable mirror and move it by a window each time you go to put on your base foundation it will help.
Next, be very modest with the blush. Use so very little. You do not need a lot. You can use more in the evenings, but especially during the day, you want to go lightly.
Now keeping all of this in mind make sure that you use light enough colors. If you are trying to use makeup to make yourself look tan, you are making a huge mistake. Test the foundation on your lower jaw bone and find a color that matches.
As far as the blush goes, it’s good to get another persons opinion. However if you can’t, you want to use a color that would match your skin when you blush naturally. If you have fair skin you more than likely are to blush a pink color. If your skin is darker, you can probably go with a more peachy color.
What I did is went and got a Mary Kay facial done and they were able to tell me what colors looked best on me.
If you want to look like you are not wearing makeup then do not wear eye shadow. Get an eyeliner that matches your complexion and put just a little bit along the eyelashes. You can use black or charcoal if you have a darker complexion, but I recommend brown if you have a light complexion.
After you apply the eyeliner take your sponge brush (like an eyeshadow brush) or even a q-tip and blend it in so it doesn’t look like a line. If your lashes are already dark you may not even need any eyeliner or mascara, but I have a fair complexion and need my eyes to stand out.
If you don’t use eye liner, you can use the same color in eye shadow. However, use it as an eyeliner. Meaning, put it only along your eye lashes in a thin line.
The just put one coat of mascara on. It pays to buy a more expensive brand of mascara as well. I like Mary Kay the best. It doesn’t clump or fall on my face, like the cheaper ones do. I’ve also heard that Avon has good mascara.
Getting back to the mineral makeup. I have also used sheer cover and I liked it just as well as the Bare Escentuals. I thought I should mention that because you might have a preference on which one has the best deal.
