Do You Love Spicy Foods?
If you are like me, then you are a spice freak. I had to eventually cut out a lot of my favorite foods until I had given my stomach time to repair it self. Now, when I want to tickle my taste buds, I do so responsibly and restrict myself as much as possible. Instead of going super hot and over the top, I opt for mild or medium heat. Why should I go whole hog when I already now what the results are going to be…. pain and discomfort!
Is it an Ulcer (open gastric sore)?
A burning or pain that occurs anywhere between your breastbone and belly button can be recognized as a stomach ulcer or peptic ulcer. Black or tarry stools may also be a sign of a peptic ulcer and should not be taken lightly and vomiting of blood or stomach acid are also signs that you may to see your doctor for further diagnosis and possibly treatment.
Activia Yogurt – this is like a gift from the ‘stomach God’. This yogurt is Probiotic packed and tasty to boot. I can’t tell you how many times I have recommended this in the store; people must look at me like I am a walking infomercial. It is the only product in the world that currently touts the inclusion of Bifidus Regularis as a part of its ingredients list. Viva la Living and Active Bacteria!
Ginger – purchase fresh ginger from the produce section of your local grocers and add a little extra ‘zing’ to your next dinner.

Ginger Tea – Yogi brand ginger tea is one of my brands of choice.
Ginger Pills – Natures’ Bounty – Natural Whole Herb, ginger root is what I use on just about a weekly basis or when the need arises. The formula is in gel capsule form and when I am short of fresh ginger, I pop open a pill and add the contents to meals or to tea.
Is it More Than You Think?
I was plagued with tummy aches and stomach distress for years. I thought that it was a way of life for me. It turns out that it was more and on a routine physical exam(one that I’d put off for years) the doctor found that I had a mass in my pelvic area and that it was wreaking havoc on my body. Bottom line, don’t just assume that the aches and pains that you feel are normal…. visit your doctor and keep yourself safe, healthy and informed.
