Big balloons are excellent to have at any kind of special occasion and especially at children’s birthday parties. They can be affordable decorations that not only make the special occasion colorful and bright, but they are even enjoyable to play with by all ages. Making a big balloon for that special occasion is easier than you think and can be very exciting once you get the hang of making them.
The materials you will need are a helium tank, bag of big balloons of any color and as many colorful 3 feet long ½ inch wide ribbon as needed. If you do not have these materials on hand you can find them at your local party store.
Once you have all your materials you will take your helium tank and turn the handle on top of the tank counter clock wise until it is fully turned and has come to a complete stop where you can no longer turn it. This with open the tank up so the helium can flow through the nozzle. Than press down on the helium tank nozzle that is sticking out of the tank that is used to fill up the balloons to see if the helium air is moving freely through the nozzle.
After you will take a big balloon from the package and place the open end of the balloon over the helium tank nozzle. With your thumb and index finger hold the end of the balloon tightly onto the nozzle so no air can escape and press down on the nozzle until the balloon is filled with helium. You will know when there is plenty of helium in the big balloon because the balloon will look like it will want to burst and if you gently squeeze the balloon it will be firm and hard to squish without popping it.
Than you will remove the helium filled big balloon from the helium nozzle very carefully while still holding the end of the balloon tightly so no air can escape from it. Than tie a knot at the end of the big balloon by looping the end of the balloon around your index finger and pulling the end of the balloon opening through the loop using your thumb. This should form a tight knot to hold the helium in the balloon.
Next you will take a piece of your colorful 3 foot long ½ inch wide ribbon and take one end of it and tie it around the end of the big balloon above the knot. Then you will have one big balloon for your special occasion and you can repeat these steps to make several big balloons.
These are the steps for filling up a big balloon with helium air. I hope you all have a blast at your party or special event and I hope everyone really likes your big balloons.
