Looking to give back and help children in need of school supplies? Then read on for some great information on how and where you can donate some school supplies. Many families can’t afford to buy their kids school supplies which it is a great idea to donate any unused or extra supplies you might have or to buy some to donate. Here is a list of places you can visit to help the cause.
Drop off school supplies at any Staples store:
Dosomething.org has partnered with Staples to host a school supply drive. If you have any supplies or you have a school supply drive you can drop all of it at any Staples store now through September 18Th. It is a great way to give back and to know that there will be an organization ensuring your supplies are helping students across America.
Here you can find a list of what exactly teachers need for their classrooms. Because calling every school to find out if they need donations can get a little tiring, here you can find out where and who you can donate to. Register to donate and begin the process of helping.
Located in Orlando, FL, It is a non-denominational organization that helps single moms by providing them with food that is delivered to them weekly and also other main items such as shampoo, soap, hair products and more. I myself have donated baby food to this organization and they are also accepting school supplies.
Public school teachers post items they need in their classroom and you browse all the projects and pick the one you want to help out with. Once you donate you will receive pictures and a thank you card from the teacher you helped supply.
Visit your local church:
Many churches help members with donations and they might need some school supplies for the kids.
Host your own school supply drive:
Let friends and family know you are in need of supplies and to help spread the word, once you have a lot of school supplies take them to your child’s school or any school that might be in need of them.
As you may know Goodwill helps families with all of the necessities one might need, including school supplies, visit your local Goodwill and drop your supplies at the donation area.
I hope you have found a great place to donate school supplies and that my list has helped you with your choice. God bless you for taking the time to help others in a time of need and you will see that God will open doors for your generosity.
