Lottery Winner Hit it Big Time with 258 Million Dollars
This story deserves a Hot News Quickie – doesn’t it just make you feel good when someone who truly deserves to win money does win, and a huge amount of money at that? Maybe not everyone is thrilled, especially all the losers of the big Missouri Powerball Lottery. But the big winner, Chris Shaw, is on cloud 9 I bet.
He is just a 29 year old working man. He works at the gas station where he purchased the winning ticket. According to the news, he is the biggest lottery winner in Missouri history. I wonder if he handed in his resignation yet. I don’t think he needs to pump gas any longer.
According to Shaw, he had less than $29 in the bank. He had purchased a 12 year old truck, for $1,000, and was paying it off in $100 installments. That’s how bad things were for this guy. He didn’t know how he would pay his bills. I think he can stop worrying now!
Chris had not had enough money to pay bills, let alone get his teeth fixed. He said now that he won the money he will have dental work done. He is one happy guy and who can blame him? There are lots of folks that win the big lotteries who don’t actually need the money. This guy surely did, does, used to….you know what I mean!
He has three kids, ages 10, 7 and 5 by two different women. The kids live with their moms over 240 miles from where Shaw lives. He now has money to visit with them. He is going to take his three kids and his girl friend’s two sons to Disney World. Kids being kids, they are already giving him lists of new toys they want.
The convenient store/gas station where he bought the ticket will receive $50,000 for selling the winning ticket. If Shaw takes a lump sum payment after taxes he will receive almost 125 million dollars. He is getting professional help regarding the money, as well he should.
After producing a string of tornadoes yesterday in the center of the country, that same system is heading east slowly. Right now the south is having sunny and hot weather, but that will change later. The Chattanooga weathermen have been telling us all week that we will be in for it Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. The front will produce hail, strong gusty winds, up to 4 inches of rain in heavy downpours and possible tornadoes. This will be true for parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. Be on the lookout and take shelter. Keep your NOAH weather radios on as a precaution.
