For years we’ve heard stories about people who’ve gotten rich off the Internet. There are many examples of successful online entrepreneurs but there are many more failures we never hear about.
When I started learning how to market online, I began with what I was most familiar with and that was the music business. I was part of a Hiphop group and we didn’t have alot of money to launch a major label marketing campaign so I studied as much as I could about guerilla marketing.
I got pretty good at learning how to market and promote with little to no money because I didn’t have any!
My act was an early pioneer online with our website because we incorporated a blog which were barely heard of at the time. We were able to post about all the current events happening with our group.
I took those experiences and created RapBeatCreator.com because I knew I could be successful online. Besides, other people were finding success so I figured I could too.
I set out with a plan to become successful. I bought courses, attended seminars, combed the Internet, and found mentors. I did whatever it took to make my website successful.
The most important thing I did that contributed to my success was get some education. I’m not the type to try to figure every single step to be successful when I KNOW someone else has already figured it out.
That’s what I did with my site.
I started out selling music online but I decided to focus on helping others become successful in the music business. I changed my primary focus to affiliate marketing and that’s when I began to see some revenue.
Affiliate marketing is one of the fastest ways to make money online. There are many programs to choose from so you should do some research before you commit to any program. I found affiliate programs for the music business niche but there is probably an affiliate program for any niche you can think of.
It wasn’t until I began to study and implement affiliate marketing did my music website take off.
Here’s what worked for me.
If I could offer any advice from my small business success, it would be to stay focused and definitely learn as much as you can about your industry. Study and find some mentors to help guide you to success. Building a business isn’t easy and you will need other peoples help to be successful.
You need to stay focused on what works and keep testing until you find out what does work and scrap the things that don’t work. By creating systems in your business for accomplishing your goals, you can put your business on autopilot and you’ll get there much faster.
Last, I would say nothing can substitute for action. You can’t just talk about what you are going to do. You have to do it. Or you can hire someone else to do it. Either way, the task must get done. Once the right tasks start getting done, more and more, you’re on you way to success.
